We traveled during the month of May as a family of 5 people ( 2 adults and 3 kids age 15, 12, and 9) Let me start by saying the food variety is amazing, ocean is beautiful and staff is super friendly. Ladies on the beach( Claudia and Monse) tend to provide nice entertainment. I highly recommend this resort.

We are a family of 4. 2 under the age of 8. We came to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and our pre-anniversary. Our stay was amazing! My kids and husband did not want to leave the resort and stated it multiple times. All of the food was great, all of the à la carte restaurants were 10/10. We had great help from Fernanda that worked with Expedia guests and made our stay so much more wonderful. We can’t wait until we come back. The room was clean and fresh. It was cleaned daily. The beach is somewhat of a walk from family section but there is so much we got to see on all of our walks to and from the beach it was barely noticeable. The beach was not as clear as previous years but that’s Mother Nature for us. The water still felt so good, Playacar has always had a beautiful beach. I thank all of the wonderful staff at Sandos for making this family trip one to remember with great times!

Rooms could be cleaner. I don’t think they moped the floors daily(for sure not in the bathroom:toilet area). Swimming pools water was too warm, especially the adult pools with deeper water, somehow kid’s pool water was a bit cooler. One of the elevators was on and off, so, for us , family with toddler in stroller was kids of issue. Otherwise hotel was good, food was ok, cocktails were meh. We didn’t have a chance to try any food at the restaurant, you need a reservation for, just preferred to eat dinner outside hotel resort. Hotel is located in quiet, safe and gated community, so that was a big plus. Unfortunately the beaches face a massive, record-breaking influx of foul-smelling brown seaweed called sargassum, so you don’t even want to approach the beach because of that smell. Staff was nice and helpful, kids loved pools with slides. I really enjoyed the diverse plants and wildlife on the hotel grounds. We had a good time there.

Sandos is not a bad resort. Just has some really weird things that need to be worked out. First off the resort is huge and the shuttle around the resort is not the greatest.. second you can’t ever make reservations at any of the restaurants because they’re always all taken, but if you show up at the restaurant, there’s plenty of tables. People are making the reservations and not showing up well there’s no way to know that. Food was ok nothing special. Entertainment staff was good

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the big shady area (palm trees)at the beach. The buffet is huge and the food is really good. The “coffee shop” has good iced coffees. The property overall is really nice but it was like a bait and switch for me. The property is full of raccoons roaming around. The rooms I booked weren't what I got. I booked two connecting rooms with a balcony, I was given disjointed rooms facing a brick wall with barb wire. The beach was unusable due to vast amounts of sargassum. There other parts of the resort that are very nice with lots of greenery. Most of the staffs were very helpful. What you think you booked isn't what you will get when you arrive.

I had a great experience at this hotel. The overall stay was very enjoyable, and I would rate it highly for cleanliness, comfort, and service. Zyanya and Maria were especially welcoming and helpful—they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their friendliness really made the stay stand out. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

The staff were super friendly! That was really the only great thing I can say about the place. They didn’t allow us to make reservations for the restaurants until you have your room number and by the time we got it they didn’t have many reservations left. I had to switch rooms because the air didn’t work and it took a day for them to move me. They didn’t have room service but advertised they did. And they have a tier system on brackets which allowed you in different spots which wasn’t really great either. There were many other things but I wouldn’t recommend staying here especially during off season.
