Umaya is incredible and we loved our stay there. There were a few issues with the original room (WiFi didn’t work and no plugs) and so we were upgraded to a beach front apartment. The views were glorious. The bedrooms are really spacious and beds are comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. The pools were great and really clean. You can borrow kayaks for free. All of the staff were really kind and friendly.

The shuttle drivers were excellent friendly and informative. They waited for us 3 hours past our pick up time due to our flight from Dallas being delayed. It should be known that even though they take you to Placencia village at specific times you can call them to be a taxi as well and save money over the price of a regular taxi. Good food

Our flight was delayed by several hours so we arrived to the resort just before the restaurant closed. My family hadn't eaten since breakfast and when we asked about the restaurant squeezing us in before close, they graciously agreed. The team was incredibly kind and helpful. The staff we spoke to that evening remembered us by name the next morning. They went out of their way to make sure our family enjoyed our short time at the resort. We would love to come back and visit again and highly recommend this property!

Umaya is a beautiful resort with everything we needed. Bedrooms, full kitchen, large living room and could walk right out to the beach. They had a lovely pool with swim up bar and a nice restaurant across the street. It was close to restaurants and bars but we did need to drive to them as the road is busy and no sidewalks. Would stay here again.

The property is beautiful and staff are kind and friendly. My only issue was with the beach front property. Due to the Sargassum issue, the smell is horrible and making it hard to spend time on the beach or on the beautiful balcony. I would recommend staying at the lagoon side if you’re heading there. Other than that, I would definitely return.
