  • The high tide tonight at Shell Beach gave us quite a show. There was a large pod of dolphins off shore and birds flying and diving into the water everywhere; the Pelicans were my favorite to watch. Usually we come here during low tide to explore the pools, but this was a different experience and one not to be missed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shell Beach Inn. It's the perfect distance between Pismo and Avila Beaches and has easy access to many restaurants and a little store. The room was simple but had everything we needed to enjoy the beach. The pool was warm enough that we could use it and my kids enjoyed it a lot.

Such a hidden gem! The room was exactly as pictured. Every little detail was thought of for the most comfortable stay. It was so quiet and I had the best nights sleep. The check in process was easy and I loved the keyless entry. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We would stay again. A few items for suggested improvement.One wash cloth given, per person, for 4 days is insufficient. Bath and hand towels provided daily. Dirty floor. My slipper socks very dirty. A floor lamp not plugged in and unable to plug in. Clean and cozy room and nice simple amenities. Close to shops and restaurants and a short walk to the beach. A very nice place to stay.
