“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “Lovely property. Very clean & staff were very helpful. Wood fired hot tub maybe not ideal & you have to buy your own wood after night one (b&m much cheaper than buying it there). But was good it was lit & warmed up for us on arrival. A very enjoyable stay, although we left a lot of food & drink in the fridge & we were almost home by the time we realised 😞”
