The facility is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. This is a place geared for families and if that suits you, I don't believe you can do better. Food is buffet style with loads of selection or you can order from the menu.

The set up of the lodge is like a center parcs style safari stay. It may be pricy but if you factor in the game drive and half board, it is actually quite reasonable. The safari trips were excellent with the driver/guide providing excellent knowledge. We absolutely loved the bush braai with African entertainment. The room was amazing with everything we asked for provided with plenty of space. Lovely swimming pool and the view of the watering hole is second to none.

Lovely relaxing 2 night at this relaxing lodge. Staff are lovely especially the reception staff and Rose in the restaurant. Great game drives did both morning and afternoon drives. Comfy beds spacious rooms Wi-Fi good felt quite sad to leave

Great family trip - the rooms are clean & comfortable for 2 adults & 2 small kids The lodge has quite a few activities for the kids - even though the staff could b a bit more proactive, accommodating & fun for the kids Restaurant & food including food variety and catering for different dietary requirements was excellent

Very nice stay at Bakubang, the buffet waz extensive. The room was very big and comfortable. The bush dinnet is higly reccomended. It is quite expensive for an older property. The elephants at the watering hole was a treat

Amazing stay

My stay was amazing . I experienced a lot of beautiful things like having braai dinner at the bush. The carpet at our rooms was not clean and so were chairs and tables on our balconies.

We enjoyed the experience of sleeping so close to the animals. Game drives were exciting and very informative. We thoroughly enjoyed having Chu-Chu as our ranger on 2 of the drives. Thank you to all the amazing staff at Bakubang for making this such a delightful experience. We will be back!

This was our first trip to Bakubung and we will be returning. These room was large with daily views of warthogs, mongoose, guinea hens, monkees, zebras, and impala(not guaranteed, they are wild animals and roam at their liesure. The daily game drives provided opportunities to see the wildlife up close and learn about them, James was a great guide with an eagle's eye for animals. Although scarce, we were able to see 4 of the 9 cheetahs one morning. For a trip at your own pace, you can take your car into the nature reserve and go at your own pace, there are several potholes, but most cars and all SUV/trucks will work. The food was amazing, with a chicken, beef, or lamb available every night. A vegetarian option is also available if needed. Overall, a great and safe place to visit the bush in South Africa.
