The room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet. The noise machine and earplugs were a an awesome touch. The location was excellent and so close to everything. The decor and aesthetic are beautiful, with original exposed brick walls. My only complaint is that there isn’t a pre check-in/post-check-out luggage storing system. If you don’t want to walk around the busy streets with luggage, plan accordingly.

having no staff on premises to check you in or deal with you at all during the stay was unexpected as no mention of this was made upon booking. the self-check-in experience - while easy - had me doing it on the phone on a busy street. managed to check in and the room was perfect. no staff is present at night leaving the hotel to have a dystopian vibe. place was very clean and comfortable but that entire benefit was offset by the lack of staffing. mixed bag but will not return for the price i paid.

Everything about the hotel in terms of its cleanliness, location, and staff were excellent. What only marred the trip was trouble with the electronic check-in and check-out process, as well as issues with accessing the hotel. The room was itself quite plain with concrete floors and walls, though it offered great TV, robes, and bathroom.

Only wish they had a business partnership with a nearby parking garage because the parking is expensive if don’t want to leave it on the street. Other than that, the room is spacious and comfortable

Would not return to this property. Location is accessible to many transportation routes but overall activity outside of property makes this a less than desirable stay when leaving the building. Room was not cleaned prior to arrival. Bed sheets unchanged, garbage from previous stay left in refrigerator, TV/ Remote control un- operable… No hotel staff was expected but it definitely downgrades the level of hospitality. Vending machines also had no options.

The hotel has some unique features, such as a code you use to access both your room and the front door, so you don’t have to worry about carrying or remembering a key. The building itself is very historic and has a lot of character. However, the bathroom was dirty, the rooms were cold, and the insulation was awful. You could hear the person next door through the cracks in the walls. Amenities are not provided in the room either—you have to go to a storage closet on the fourth floor to get them. There is also no one on the property, including a front desk or other staff, to assist you if you encounter unruly guests or have an issue during your stay. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The room was very cute but very hot. The AC was broken and it took over two hours to get my room changed to the one next door. The AC hardly worked in the second one, but it was 4 degrees cooler than the 78/79 degrees than it was in the room before. Not very accommodating. The room has chips on the floor, so the floors definitely weren’t cleaned. No front desk, so you can’t send any mail there. The online check in was very easy to do on your own. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Nice place completely ruined by unreasonable management. On site staff were mostly lovely, as were the other guests. Room was clean and comfortable. But management threw an unholy fit because I stored my suitcase in a corner for 4 hours while I finished attending a conference around the corner. I stored it neatly, and had permission from a wonderful employee when I first stored it. I was so grateful for the accommodation until they harassed the hell out of me, and tried to harass their own employee for helping me. I literally had to figure something out for myself, taking complete responsibility on my own to arrange proper storage of a single suitcase, because they loudly declared after the fact that they categorically forbid suitcase storage--no exceptions. Also, no iron in the room and no code to use the bathroom on the main floor. I chose to stay here instead of the Ritz because I like local vibes and affordable prices. I would have been really happy. But they made me feel like a 2nd class citizen. No helpful management, no reasonable accommodations to make me feel valued, nothing to make me feel "at home." Thankfully, the other guests and the on site staff took good care of me, letting me store my suitcase and letting me retrieve it on the way out of town. Management = stupid/hateful, Philadelphians = awesome! BTW, the Ritz let me store my suitcase there when I first arrived even though I wasn't a guest there. Shouldn't have to pay snooty prices for that level of service.

My queen room was nice and spacious enough for two people. Communication was great! Special thanks to Queenie and Sophie for their prompt responses. The no front desk made me nervous but we experienced 0 issues. This property requires a code for everything which is okay. It is in the heart of Philly and there is ALOT of foot traffic. We were close to EVERYTHING. Once we parked, we walked everywhere within 5-10 min at most. I would definitely stay here again. The only negative I have (which doesn’t take away from the stay) is that when we arrived the entrance smelled too much like cleaning supplies (bleach) and it was overwhelming. The suggested parking is about a 5 min walk but there are closer options.

This hotel was in a really good location for us. It was very nice inside, and our room had lots of little modern amenities. It was super clean, and our room (8th floor) was very quiet. The biggest issue is parking. There is NOWHERE to park nearby, without paying $50/night in a garage. So keep that in mind when you're considering staying here. I would probably stay here again, even so.
