Great property, definitely not as good as it was under Marriott operation. Food is not as good. Did not get a good view room. we were looking out over the maintenance area where staff takes smoke breaks. That was the bummer and assume the bad view is because we booked through Expedia.

Our suite was not ready for check in at 4:30. The front desk person said she would call me. At 5:15, I called the front desk and was told the room was now ready, why hadn’t they called me? During this time I went to the restaurant to check on our evening dinner reservation, the hostess was knitting and seemed very inconvienced that I was disturbing her concentration. Knitting while working, new concept for me. The rooms are well appointed and nicely prepared (still a bit pricey for northern Michigan), excellent view of lake. My son had a second room at the other end of the property very near an ongoing wedding party. Music blare till almost 11 and I even heard it in my room. Better balance between functions and guest needs would be appreciated.

The room was clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was curtious and professional. We stayed there after skiing the Highlands. The outdoor hot tub was perfect and the robes in the room were appreciated. The view of the bay is great, the restaurant was good, although a little on the pricey side. Overall, we had a great stay.

Beautiful hotel, staff was very nice, gorgeous views. Bugs were inescapable (due to being on water not due to cleanliness of hotel) making balcony unusable and spending time outside unenjoyable. Hotel very clean but pesky bugs throughout.

Outdoor dining was wonderful. Fire pit was relaxing. Pool was perfect. Room was above shipping area with some noise, but fine, though long walk. Next time I will request a quiet room facing water.
