Very great place for a resort style stay. Beautiful rooftop restaurant/pool/views and super reasonably priced. Would recommend. Only complaints that I have were that it’s not very walkable anywhere and you’ll need to grab. I also had issues with the toilet that weren’t addressed properly until the day I left. Overall, I would stay again, but would request to move rooms if something like that happened again.

Great location! Just a few steps down the stairs and you are on one of Bali’s best beaches. Room is huge with bathtub and great view of the golf course. Restaurant has an amazing view !!!

Do not book this hotel under any circumstances. The photos are completely misleading. Our room had a strong musty, mould-like and sewage-like smell. We were moved and upgraded, but the same issue continued. I had throat and lung irritation during the night and we checked out the next morning. This was our honeymoon, and the experience was awful. The rooms felt damp, unhealthy and badly maintained. There appeared to be black mould on the curtains, and when I opened them, residue stained my hands and I had to wash them twice. The toilets were broken in both rooms we were shown. Breakfast was terrible and basically inedible. It tasted like reheated leftovers. At the rooftop bar, we waited around 45 minutes to be served despite several staff standing around, and the prices were around three times higher than normal. After leaving, I read other reviews alleging rat problems at the property, including one claim that a rat crawled on a guest while they slept. Based on what we experienced, sadly, that does not surprise me. The staff were polite, but the property itself is in shocking condition. Avoid, especially if you have asthma, allergies, chest sensitivity, or any concern about mould, hygiene or air quality.

Very clean, comfortable and superbly courteous and helpful staff. Easy access to the beach but very far from any other attraction. If you plan on staying at the resort most of the time, it’s an excellent choice. However if you want to see Bali and surroundings, budget plenty time and money because it’s a good hour and $300,000 IDR one way to get to your nearest sites.

Soviet/ Chinese style hotel…3 stars at best

I would say this hotel needs a lot of work. As soon as we checked in, the toilet wasn’t working, there was a bag of garbage left by the previous person staying there, They were shampoo and body wash, but no conditioner, overall the place looks like an old Soviet/ Chinese hotel… in no Way, Is This , a four star hotel let alone a five star. The people were great, The hotel next-door, Jumirah is a better option.

I've noticed that this hotel needs lots of renovation on their rooms and facilities to compensate for the price their offer. The room is big however you can feel that it is not maintained properly. Breakfast menu were not great either, luckily the view from the rooftop is spectacular. You need to arrange your own transport if you want to stay here as the location is very isolated.

Sadly this hotel is nothing like the pictures. It is extremely dated and needs a massive refurb. We were told this is happening next month. It is a lovely location but loads of issues with mould, broken things in the rooms. The pool is green and the decking is broken around the pool. The staff do what they can to help but with next to no options we had to leave as it was just disgusting. We did get a refund for the nights we hadn’t stayed but tbh we are not happy having paid for the 2 nights we stayed as we were just going to put up with it but then a 2/3 metres piece of wood fell off the wardrobe and barely missed hitting my mum and then she found mould on her pillow, urine and blood stains on the mattress and mattress protector. Other than that lovely place…

We didn't even stay. We went to the restaurant upstairs to have a beer and some food to wait for our room to be ready for check in (after 2pm). Spent 45 minutes and all we got was a beer. Extremely slow service. We were directed to our room and it was a disaster. Smelled terrible!. Mold in the room, dirty...it was really bad. We called our driver and went somewhere else. We did not get out money back, because of the cancellation policy. Still happy to be able to leave and stay at a different and clean place.

It was a pretty clean establishment with a very nice rooftop. The staff were kind as well. We did not have the best stay as it was not how it was advertised and we did not get what we were promised in our reservation. I had reserved a deluxe room with a view. I assume we received the deluxe room but got a view of the parking lot instead of the water. There was also construction going on right next to our room for the entirely of our stay that did not stop. When we asked about when it would be over, they told us it was only for the day we checked in, so we assumed it would be done. Instead it continued and when we brought it up again, they gave us vouchers for anything on the menu (which was very nice). We did try to redeem them for lunch but apparently only counted for very specific dishes. This didn’t matter much. The one aspect that gives the low rating is that we were missing half a door on our balcony but no one told us. Our last night I went to re-lock the door before we went to bed but noticed some air flow behind the curtain. I thought someone had broke into our room. Turns out we just did not have a door and we’re not made aware of this. Overall an ok stay and if we hadn’t run into these issues my review would be much more positive.

I paid ($133.00) per night for the a suite and I only was given a regular room. I ask the front desk for an explanation an I was told that since I booked the room thru Expedia, I could only be given a regular room. To be able to book a suite, I would have to book through the hotel directly. The Kalapa hotel is a total scam. I have stayed at the hotel many times, but I will never stay there again.
