Location is great to the Disney Village and parks. I think some rooms have been refurbished but not ours. Carpets definitely need a thorough vacuum and steam cleaning. For a Disney property and the $, I was disappointed in the overall condition of the room and property. Especially in comparison to Disney hotels in America - including value resorts in Florida are maintained much better. And Sequoia is not a value resort. Ice machine on our floor did not work.

We stayed in a Golden Forest room for four nights which was very clean and well maintained during our stay. The hotel is lovely, clean, well themed with some great architecturural features, however it showing some minor wear and tear with some slightly dated decor. This is likely to be rectified with the current ongoing refurbishments. Check in was quick and easy with good communication and information provided. The amenities are fantastic, good shop on site, pool and gym are also very well provisioned. Some of the staff weren't always the most knowledgeable, and the standard of English spoken wasn't always the best given this is an international hotel which made queries difficult even with an attempts in french made by ourselves. (We are unfortunately not fluent speakers). The staff were however very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Dining options were limited to a buffet restaurant on site, but the Golden Forest lounge room breakfast and afternoon snacks were very high quality and good value. We thought three stars are a bit harsh for this property, it's more like a four. Would return given the opportunity!

Our room 2116 was very dated. On enterting the room a strong musty odour was present, chips out of tv surround wood work, peeling to wallpaper border and toilet was stained. The beds were clean and very comfortable so as we were only staying one night we accepted the room as it was. If it was a longer stay I would have asked to be moved room.

We stayed during a heat wave and the air-conditioning and ice machines couldn't cope. Apparently it is being renovated which it needs. Our bathroom plugs didn't plug, the bathroom door didn't fully close . However, we weren't visiting to stay in a hotel so none of this really mattered. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We couldn't book a reservation for food but it was not an issue as we ate at the parks. For what you need, its fine.

Tired Hotel, they are planning to refurb but they should review their prices per night while they upgrade, room too small, aircon didn’t work. Pool area old, indoor pool changing area is confusing and hard to manage with kids. Location is great and close to the park, I stayed in a the new port bay couple of times, the sequoia definitely felt like a downgrade.
