The high water level of last spring (2018) made the canals overflow, while the banks were completely replaced by ponds where swans would spend their days. ...so many of them!

It was one of the most beautiful evenings of this year: we paddled to a cormorant reserve [I swore secrecy to my boyfriend :)], but I can still tell you this: if you venture into the Delta, you can actually drive along Chilia Branch if you haven't got much time on your hands; from Pardina, you can go left, under the bridge. It is so peaceful and beautiful and there are many canals (some larger than others) connecting you to maze-like vegetation and surprisingly-large lakes. We even saw pelicans! :)
