The hotel is in a great location and has a charming old-style character. The room and bathroom were both clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The breakfast, however, is very much geared towards foreign tourists and could be improved by offering more variety and local options. The air conditioning in the common areas is quite weak, although it works well in the rooms, making them comfortable even during hot weather.

Worst hotel we’ve been at, so bad that we had to immediately leave. They market themselves as 5 stars, and if that’s true then the rating system is broken. This hotel is worn out, dark, and has a very strong smell. The smell was terrible and omnipresent. The room itself was very run down and the bathroom, and the bath specifically, were just old. We would not recommend.

Breakfast was excellent! The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was large and comfortable, and, even though it faced the street, it was pretty quiet. The hotel itself was beautiful - classic Italian. The location was nice because it was just a 5 minute walk to the Teatro Massimo and a lot of the tourist attractions, but it wasn't in the middle of everything. A few minor observations; although the shower itself was fantastic, it was a bit leaky (aren't they all!), the tap in the bathroom sink was a bit wonky until I figured it out, and the mini-fridge didn't quite fit the (much appreciated) daily free bottle of water. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again! Oh, and the air-conditioning was excellent - perfect for the scorching heat of Palermo in July!

The Grand Hotel Wagner is a lovely hotel with a history. The location of the hotel was perfect for all of our exploring and close to restaurants and cafes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the size and comfort of our room. The breakfast was the best we’ve had so far in Italy!
