Late checking instructions and service was excellent. Excellent bakery across the street substitutes for late opening of restaurant. Room ample and environs not noisy despite facing the street.

Great staff and spacious rooms by River
Tv too small for main living room
The room my partner and I had was nice but there was hair all over the bathroom cabinet when we arrived and no soap or shampoo and conditioner - completely empty. The door wasn’t locked between adjoining rooms so my partner and I opened a door to which we thought was a cupboard, and it was two strangers sitting in the room. They obviously asked the staff to come and fix the issue and the staff continued to barge through the door no knocking or anything. Just walked through the door to try lock it. I would’ve felt really unsafe if I was alone. Later on we ask for soap at the counter and 15 mins later the manager comes down and says it’s filled, so it’s obvious he proceeded to walk through our room unannounced and us not knowing. We were waiting for him to give us the soap. Also when we arrived they were adamant that we hadn’t paid and had to find proof we had - barely any apology. Honestly it was terrible and I am seeking a full refund. Was unsafe to have that door unlocked and there’s no ifs ands or buts about it. Look forward to hearing from you and receiving details of the refund. Thank you
The staff are all great, the service is excellent, rooms are clean & light, beds are comfortable and the restaurant downstairs.... the food is delicious!
We find the food and hospitality at Finns great and have stayed there previously. Rooms are spacious - comfortable bed and a good sized spa bath.Proximity to the beach is perfect for a stroll or run. It’s a great place to stay when breaking up a long drive. If you’re a train lover the little village has a train museum.
Sited near a railway line you will hear some goods trains in the night.
Had a lovely break at Finns. Friendly staff with great hospitality. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and always clean. Bonus to have a lovely restaurant onsite. Good food and great atmosphere. Thank you.
Such a nice clean comfortable place to stay. I wondered if the close proximity to railway may be an issue, but I was not disturbed at all.
The staff were all nice and friendly, and the food in the restaurant was good and wholesome despite a reduced menu due to ‘lockdown’.
The beach is less than a two minute walk away for views of Kapiti Island, and the beautiful sandy coastline.
Great hosts even though the restaurant was closed the day we checked in. Close to another great restaurant where we could walk along the ocean to it. I would highly recommend it.
What an amazing place just 35 minutes from the South Island ferry terminal. Situated in a quaint seaside village. The room was large and clean and better than the rooms that many large hotels offer the managers were helpful and friendly. Highly recommended
