“Helen and Paul must be two of the nicest and kindest hosts we've met. After a 6 hour drive, to arrive to a cream tea laid out in the apartment was truly a lovely touch. One of the cleanest places we've ever stayed, they'd literally thought of everything you could need. You name it, it was there, potato peeler, sieve, cling film, foil the works. “Amazing views, very lovely staff, easy parking, very clean and comfortably spacious rooms. Only thing to note is that if the bar / restaurant is open and music on, and it's summer and you have windows open, it can get a bit noisy on the top floor. We stayed Friday and sat night so that might also make a difference. Parents were in room on cliffside below the restaurant and was much quieter there. Five stars easily even with this!”

“It was a novel experience to stay in a converted jail. The breakfast was great and the service was overall very good. As a practical stay with two young kids I found the rooms to be on the small side (perhaps expected for a converted jail) and not so comfortable as a place to just unwind after a day of sightseeing. I would perhaps recommend it for a one night stay, just to try it out, but not for longer.”
