Lovely stay, beautiful and well maintained rooms. Staff were so friendly and helpful and we loved the food at the pub. We were in the boycott room and only downside is that it is a little small and the bathroom doesn’t have shelves or large sink area to place toiletries. Nice touches with the bottles of water and coffee machine

A great stay at the Bat & Ball. Very convenient for travel to park and ride in Oxford. Very welcoming, clean and tidy. Food was also very good. Plenty of places to exercise the dog as well.

Parking was quite tight but perfectly adequate the 2 nights we stayed. The bar and restaurant were absolutely fantastic and the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming.

Lovely pub in quiet pretty village. We were staying during heatwave and staff had provided large fan in the upstairs room. Dinner menu was somewhat reduced because of weather conditions, which was a shame, but nevertheless enjoyable. Excellent breakfast. Charming and helpful staff.

Great pub based hotel, very nice room and comfy bed. Attention to detail was excellent. Oak milk, nespresso style coffee in room. Very nice breakfast, friendly locals and staff. Great beer and food on the evening. Only thing is they only serve food until 8.15pm and bar shuts at 10pm but not really a problem if you know about it and plan

The staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful. Sunday lunch was also excellent. On Sunday evening the hotel closes at 9pm and guests have only their rooms. I understand that the staff are tired on a Sunday, but with no available Wi fi which I believe will be rectified in the next month or so and no TV in the bedrooms it is a bit dismal. There are no other hotels/pubs or shops or places of interest to visit except the local church.

We stayed 2 nights in a suite. The room was delightful and we slept very well. Dinner both nights was outstanding and we wished we could have stayed longer to try out more of the menu ! Breakfast was freshly cooked each morning and also delicious. Would definitely return.

Really delighted I found this place, good car park, comfy quiet room, surprisingly good coffee from the "pod" machine. Friendly helpful team, not a huge menu on a Tuesday night, but that tends to hint that it's about quality rather than quantity...and that was proved right. Really good scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, the sour dough was exceptional.

The room was lovely apart from the heat as we stayed during a UK heatwave. A fan was provided luckily especially as our room was up in the eaves. It would have been nice to have had a tv but I guess they want you to spend time (and money) in the pub not in your room. The kitchen area would have also benefitted from a small fridge so the milk and water (replenished daily) could have been kept cold. We were on room only basis, however, we did eat breakfast in the pub on our first morning. The food was good, however our bill also included a 13.5% service charge which I thought was cheeky given there were only two of us and we were staying there.

What an amazing dog friendly place! Warm welcome from Peter and all the staff to a beautiful pub with a lovely mix of locals and customers who had obviously travelled to spend their night here. Our room was really spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Nice touches of special toiletries, biscuits and drinks. We so much appreciated that our dog Douglas was so well looked after with lots of biscuits and greetings. Nice walks across the neighbouring park and fields beyond and parking in the back. The food was stunning. We had a range of choices from classic pub to higher end dining and the wine list and drink choice was extensive. Will definately be back to stay!

Absolutely superb in every way. BUT.... The room(s) was/are under a sloped, tiled roof. Weather very warm. But it was unbearably hot. Unable to sleep properly. A real shame, as it was otherwise excellent.

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant but unfortunately the stay was less impressive. Having booked a room for 3 it was set up for 2 with just 2 towels, 2 mugs, 2 glasses and 1 tea bag. At breakfast we waited 50 minutes for our cooked breakfast with no apology or explanation. When it finally arrived we asked if we could have some toast with it only to be told that they do not do toast with the English Breakfast! The tea was lukewarm and had to be returned and the 'fresh' orange juice was not. Sadly we left feeling somewhat disappointed
