By far, this staff went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Our room was super clean and within steps of a beautiful view of the Chesapeake. Every detail imaginable was thought of as well as breakfast and coffee waiting for us every morning. The location couldn't be beat with a quaint town just a short walk. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We arrived early and the staff was wonderful and had our room ready soon after we arrived. The staff is very helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable. The property is well cared for and the location on the river is stunning. We were at the inn on a week day and it was quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was a basket of breakfast biscuits and protein bars, no fruit or yogurt but very delicious coffee.

Unique Property. Never saw a single member of the staff, but never needed to. Was provided with everything I could want; coffee and pastry left at the door each morning, and written information, restaurant menus, etc left in the room answered any question I could have. The most unique thing was the town of Oxford. I needed a couple of days away from stress, and found the most relaxing venue in the most peaceful town I have ever seen.

The waterfront views are breathtaking — especially at sunset — and the private beach creates such a relaxing, exclusive atmosphere. The suites are beautifully designed: spacious, spotless, cozy, and full of charm. You can truly feel the attention to detail in every corner. Waking up to the sound of the water and enjoying coffee with that view was unforgettable. The staff were exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, making the entire experience feel personal and luxurious at the same time. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, a peaceful retreat, or simply a beautiful escape from the busy world, Sandaway is a hidden gem. One of the most charming and memorable places we’ve stayed. Love this gorgeous property on the bay. Overall a wonderful stay. The staff was fantastic. The owners were friendly and responsive to our requests. The AC needs an upgrade but that is my only constructive criticism. All the best to Ben, the owner’s son, as he takes on the management of the property. He is a good guy who labors right next to his employees. A true mark of leadership. Well done, Ben.

We found this place completely by accident on a cross country road trip, scrolling through Expedia looking for somewhere to spend one night. But this place is a treasure! The location is perfect. Right on the Chesapeake Bay, it has its own private beach, a sprawling lawn dotted with Adirondack chairs, and some of the most peaceful views I’ve ever experienced. The bay was serene. But also, lively? There was a children’s sailing camp out on the water for goodness sake. The lifestyle this little town has was mesmerizing to watch. Like we’d stepped into the Truman Show in the best possible way. The hospitality is 5⭐️. Ben was amazing! We were given a complimentary room upgrade, too (chandelier room). Our favorite parts: the clawfoot tub, a private screened porch overlooking the water, the sweetest welcome gift that included this little oyster shell trinket made by a local artist that I absolutely adore. The stay also included fresh coffee and pastries quietly delivered to your door each morning. Binoculars left for birdwatching on the bay. A dehumidifier in the room. Kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, beach chairs… every time we turned around we discovered another thoughtful touch. If you’re looking for a sleek, modern luxury hotel, this isn’t it… but that’s exactly why it’s so special. Every little imperfection tells a story. It feels authentic, cozy, and wonderfully preserved.

Amazing Waterfront B&B!!

Sandaway is a great place for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. If you like the serenity of a beachfront property with tons of history, then Oxford is the place to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets- and everything in between.

The Sandaway is a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay. We chose to stay there while attending the Waterfowl Festival in Easton. Oxford is a quiet town and we enjoyed coming back to the Sandaway to relax and watch the sunset over the river. We also loved the antique furniture in the common areas, as well as in our room. We had a room on the second floor with a porch overlooking the river. One night, it was fairly mild, so we kept the door open so we could hear the waves washing up to the shore. The owners are very nice and helpful, and work hard to ensure their guests are happy. We will definitely come back to stay here.

Very quiet, off the beaten path kind of place. It was a bit pricey on a long weekend, but we had a wonderfully leisure time there. Wild rabbits were running on the lawns, so cute! The inn keepers were attentive and gave us a few "care packages", we also loved the cucumber soap. The only downside is the lack of food choices in town, I think with this location it may have been a good thing to pay extra for breakfast on site.
