Easy check in. Communication has been great. The Finley House is an amazing place to stay. It’s very clean and love that we have access to a full kitchen stocked with coffee for the morning.

It is a very unique property with a lot of history. It was super clean and the proprietors were very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this property if you are in the Owasso area.

Good trip. Had a little lack of communication in getting the code to get into the property, but beyond that, everything was great. It's a cool place to stay.

Loved this property! The house is beautiful and we were in love with it. Unfortunately we did not get to spend enough time there . We were in for a wedding and only stayed one night. I would definitely recommend if you like properties with a history and a lot of character and charm.

Not what I paid for

I received the confirmation with her entry code to enter our property yesterday afternoon. When we arrived to what we’re supposed to be a two bedroom suite, we found that only was the door wide open to the outside, and we just walked in. I rented a two bedroom suite and one we got was a one bedroom with king, bed and sofa. The rest of the house appeared empty, but I have not been able to get a hold of anyone directly, even though I texted and called.

The room itself was nice. The dormer windows that opened and the built in bookshelves and drawers were great. My husband double punched a number for the key code to get in the place, so we kept getting an "operation failure" warning. Eventually a siren went off. I texted the owner, got no response. Called, and she called right back. She had to unlock the door for us and reset the code. It was raining at the time. Not a good beginning. We went to dinner, and when we came back the key card would not swipe. There were no instructions, but were swiped it every which way everywhere on that door lock. I called again, no answer, so I left a message. Then I texted. We finally thought to use the code, and that worked. I texted her back to say we were in. Finally got a text back where she argued twice that the swipe card was active and would work. Sorry ma'am, it did not at that time. Later, I had to run out to the car to get something. Lo and behold, the swipe card worked then! The toilet is situated in the bathroom so that when you sit down you are facing the shower. There is not enough room for your legs, especially if you are much over 5 feet. My husband is 6 feet tall. I am only 5'2", and I didn't even feel comfortable using that toilet. The height of the doorway to the bathroom is too short for someone that is tall. There are no outlets near the head of the bed. We had to use a borrowed extension cord to run a CPAP machine. Something to keep in mind when renting out a room.

Then, she cancelled my booking the night before my trip. When I reached out to Hotels.com, I waited on hold 45 minutes. The lady told me I would have to pay more. When I disagreed, she hung up on me. Then, I called back and asked for a manager. They said one would call me in 1-2 hours. No one called me back until the next day, and they called at 11:45 pm in the middle of the night on my vacation, while I was sleeping for two consecutive nights. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a business of any kind. I was beside myself at how badly they treated me. There is no value added for using Hotels.com. They allow their property owners to cancel at the last minute and do not take care of their customers when something catastrophic happens. They do not make an effort to ensure customers are not abused or mistreated, and they do not care when this is reported. They do not care about the customer experience at all.

Was disappointed this time. Christmas lights still up outside, broken lampposts, someone cooking smelly food both days- made whole house smell, internet wouldn’t work with the Roku half the time- had to keep signing it in, key fob did not work at all, was dusty in our room.

First issue. the address as advertised on expedia.ca is incorrect and pictures are, in large part, of a different dwelling and different location. Thus, it was not possible to accurately evaluate it or neighbourhood. I wasn’t informed of correct dwelling and address until check-in time at which point I was already billed. I strongly suggest separate listings. Dweling, though comfortable, is not comparable in quality, furnishings to that promoted. Comfortable, quiet, close to amenities. No wheelchair access. Fire alarms absent or not working Windows need major cleaning. Windows cannot be secured, allowing break-ins in a place that people know are short-term rentals of tourists. Shower was fine for me, but would be too small for many large people. Virtually no nice “little things”. There was one serving of coffee, no salt and pepper, etc. Cookware, utensils adequate. Internet access fine.
