Set among the soaring, spectacular mountains of north Powys, this early 18thC pub accommodation is very basic and the rooms need serious updating and some maintenance repairs. Rooms were sparcely furnished but had towels and soap, a large telly and clean bathroom. Despite the very basic provision, there are many plusses. Dai and his staff are very welcoming, very helpful and keen to make your stay a comfortable one. He'll prepare a cooked breakfast himself if you want one and the food is good. We ate there on all three of our nights there. There is free parking space but if full, there's a car park literally a few yards further on. It's very popular with locals with a full complement of dining customers, walkers and also motorcyclists on a one night stop. There were no issues that needed resolving but Dai was very glad to have a chat and make sure you weren't in need of anything.
