The room itself was fine. You have to pay for air conditioning. Which is not acceptable during Japan summer. It needs to be posted that the air conditioning is not free on Expedia.
Otherwise fantastic value for the cost. If the air conditioning didn’t have a charge I would stay again.
The images online look inviting because of the unique decorations and room layouts. It is a good idea. But the actual property is terribly dirty. The room we stayed in had dust on everything, especially the fake plants. It felt uncomfortable being in the room with how dusty and unclean it was; the area around the bed was particularly bad, especially under the mattress which makes wanting to sleep on it impossible. The shared bathroom wasn't too dirty. If the hostel workers would just clean the rooms better we would've probably stayed since the price is really cheap. At least the front desk worker was kind enough to refund the following day's fare (we couldn't get a refund for the current day).
The hostel is located 30 seconds walk from the famous kokusai dori with lots of food and shopping which is a plus.
Dirty, while booking they said there was AC but we had to pay 100 yen every hour, it was absolutely ridiculous hot. We booked as female only vacinity, but saw almost everyone on that floor was men.
I would not recommend staying here, the staff seemed rude and no good customer service. The room smelt really weird and bad, so as the bed sheets just smelled so gross that we just left after checking in and stayed somewhere else. it is very cheap but it’s not worth your stay. also no ac and required to pay per 2 hrs.
There was no signage on the building and check-in was done at a curry restaurant. Both shower and toilet smelled moldy, and you have to pay extra for AC. If you opt to keep the windows open (instead of paying extra for AC), you will smell curry all night long.

Clean, mattress could be updated. Roomy double room. In the heart of downtown
