Incredible place with top value. Choose the room with private outdoor hot spring. The meals are so delectable. The service is unmatched — it was raining as we drove up and a staff member rushed out to give us each an opened umbrella. The room and amenities are amazing.

Had a spectacular stay with wife. Awesome hotel room and excellent food. Staff are courteous and helpful. It’s close to the famous onsen sightseeing spot so it’s easy to navigate around. There’s nothing much to shop around though.

This was our first ryokan experience and it was great. Staff was very friendly. Pickup & drop off at JR station was included. The view was great and the room we reserved has private indoor/outdoor onsens. Expect to do a bit of walking on the property, but it’s located next door to the “7 Jigoku of Beppu”, a great geological park.

Friendly and very polite staff. Warm welcome from the moment we entered the driveway. Loved the in-room hot spring tub area, sectioned off by sliding doors, which allowed access to the living room, the shower area, and the balcony. Although it is rather expensive, it is well worth the money to have a very good rest, relax and recharge in this hotel.

We stayed at the Japanese style house and it was amazing! It was huge and perfect for a family. It also has private indoor and outdoor onsen included in the accommodation just for us. The meals included were great as well, we had teppanyaki for dinner and Japanese breakfast. The accommodation is also close to the Hell's onsen attraction which is just minutes walk away so it's perfect for my parents. The only thing was the outdoor onsen was slightly too hot for us as you cannot adjust the water temperature. Other than that everything was great!

Disappointing stay

Service was terrible, patchy and staff was not attentive. Food was subpar for the price paid and way below expectation. In fact, of all our travels throughout Japan - this , unfortunately, has to be the only place where food and service has fallen off the cliff! The only saving grace was that location was superb.

We were picked up by a large shuttle van and greeted by hotel staff outside the front entrance. Taken inside and given an orientation and given oolong tea to drink. Our bags were taken to our rooms while we were being educated by the night manager. Our dinner was an excellent teppanyaki dinner with yagyu steak. The private onsen bath and our room was totally excellent!! I would love to come back in the future!

The rooms are very dated, and smell bad to the point it’s hard to sleep. And to add to it there was an enormous spider that was climbing around the room. It was the size of my hand. Paying around $800/night one would expect more peace. The dinner and breakfast was good, but nothing too special. I had to book a different hotel to sleep at for the second night of our stay, at around $200 and it was much nicer inside. I don’t ever complain about rooms and have stayed at many ryokans across Japan but this was simply not comfortable. I know it’s an old place in a great location but I want to keep it real for anyone else looking to splurge on an expensive stay like this.

外国のスタッフの方が多かったんですが、皆さん丁寧な接客でした。清掃も行き届いてて、部屋風呂、景色最高でした。タオルが毎回新しいのを使えるのも良かったです。ただ、館内は広くて案内版を増やして欲しいと思いました。館内着の上着から鉄板焼きの匂いがしました。上着は洗濯なしの使い回しなのかなと思い残念でした。

離れ和洋室に宿泊しました。お部屋は新しく眺めも良い部屋でした。朝夕食共とても美味しくサービススタッフも素晴らしかったです。ただ残念なことにお部屋の庭に落ち葉が積もっているし、雪駄は新しいのか足に指が痛いし。チェックイン後の客室内の説明がなく露天風呂の温度が低く調整ができなかったのが残念でした。

소라칸(6층)에서 바라보는 벳부의 전경이 인상깊게 남았다. 생각했던거보다 넓은 방에 여닫이 문으로 나눠져있는 다다미방도 좋았다. 실내와 실외에 있는 욕탕은 사용하기에 편했지만, 한가지 아쉬운것은 온천수가 미리 받아져 있다는거…사용할때 직접 받아서 하는 시스템이면 더 좋았을거라 생각한다. 그리고 실외는 많은 나무들로 모기가 좀 많았지만 부슬부슬 내리는 비를 맞으면서 따뜻한 온천물에 앉아서 자연과 어우러지는 기분은 넘 좋았다. 우리는 이틀을 묵어서 각기 다른 조식과 석식을 예약했었고 아주 대 만족, 코스마다 제공되는 양이 적어서 좀 걱정했는데, 풀코스를 다 먹은후 배부른 포만감에 정성이 담긴 직원들의 서비스가 좋았다. 풀코스 마사지도 좋았고, 전체적인 호텔 분위기나 제공되는 서비스로 그리고 주변에 있는 유명 온천을 도보로 구경하기에 호텔 위치도 좋았고, 편하게 쉬고 즐긴 온천 여행이였다.

宙館に宿泊しました。食事はとてもおいしかったです！内風呂も気持ちよく、最高でした。スタッフの方の笑顔も素敵でした。ただ、大浴場はフェンスの存在により、景色を堪能できなかったです。ラウンジも閉鎖的で長時間いたいと思える空間ではなかったです。また、館内に入ると、スタッフの方が溢れるほどいたのに対し、誰も「チェックインはこちらです」と誘導される方がおらず、バイトさん？の接客力が少し低いと感じました。

I usually do not give ratings but this time I feel that I have to let people know how amazing this Ryokan/hotel is. First the location is right in the middle of Beppus 7 Hells. You walk out and around corner they are! Second the hotel has breathtaking views of Beppu and the sea. Third the ryokan do not look much from the street but boy when you walk in you are surrounded by absolutely beautiful japanese garden, pond and architecture. Fourth, all the 4 rooms we had had own beautiful onsen bath in them. Could not believe it how great it was. Fifth, there is an amazing public onsen on the rooftop with great views of Beppu and the sea with inside and open air onsens with beautiful garden and traditional japanese steam saunas which were the first for me and great experience. Sixth, the food!! We had half board and i strongly suggest it. not only the japanese breakfast is served in a unique way but the dinners… Delicious teppanyaki served right in front of you with amazing views of the city and second evening delicious 8 course Kaiseki served in perfect way. Just perfect! And last but absolutely not least: the service! The hotel staff goes beyond everything to make your stay perfect. I have travelled in Japan now about 30 times and I know it is in the custom but this is something else! If you go to Beppu stay here!! Thank you everybody there making our Beppu stay absolutely perfect and hope to visit you soon enough!
