The rooms were a little small but it is modern and we liked that we got to borrow ?kimono gown. Also, parking is the cheapest compared to the other hotels we stayed in in Japan.

Nice large hotel. The front desk staff were helpful and cordial. The breakfast needs more western options such as more fruit, cheese, cold cuts. Shower and mattresses were great. Noise from the train tracks behind the hotel. The rooftop pool has a great view. YUFUIN village is worth a visit.

We visited Beppu for the Onsen and were not disappointed - this was a great part of our trip. The rooftop pool had fantastic views but wasn't quite warm enough for the time of year/level of wind. The rooftop hot tub was a bath, which was little odd. Room was comfortable, maybe a little dated. Hotel services were great - breakfast, welcome drinks, and complementary yukatas. We found enough places to eat round the hotel also.

Skip the buffet if you’re looking for a continental breakfast option. At ¥3300, it was pricey for a coffee and a few slices of thick cut bacon. Like most of Japan, tourism is not really geared towards westerners- which is fine, just do your research ahead of time and find one of the many off-site options in the area.
