John was an excellent host, he took care of us made us feel right at home! Went out of his way to show us around, provided transport to and from the airport took us for food as well. He was kind and respectful and the place looked amazing it was a great barbados experience! Would definitely stay here again!

Quite an authentic place. The place I stayed in isn’t for the faint hearted, it’s like an outhouse (single with bathroom) that’s not fully outside proof so expect mosquitoes, there’s a stinky net but your legs will be bitten anyway. Generally assembled from bits and pieces which is hard to clean so not very clean, clutter and fabrics everywhere unwashed. You will be paying for a towel 6USD. No early check-ins even when empty. Up the hill, so if you enjoy hiking in heat this is ideal.

Wonderful time in Barbados

Jo was an excellent host. If you want to get along with him, you have to respect him and follow his house rules. He takes good care of his property, and he helped me a lot with tips to tours around the island. He is a good host and an excellent guide. The van nr.10, just behind Jo's house, will take you to Bridgetown in 15 min. A short walk down Gall Hill, and you are at Miami beach, a dreamy beach in Oistens. Don't expect luxury, but Jo's hostel has the perfect location in town. Jo, thanks for everything.

In fact I didn't stay there. The studio I was taken to was nothing like the picture. It was tiny. The toilet/shower just a cupboard. I was offered a better room if I came back next day & that room would have been acceptable but Jo J was so hostile ordering my friend, who had taken me there, to get out. I left too.

Excellent place to enjoy island life

I spent 7 days here at Jo Js. Facility has everything you need, clean, comfortable, and located in quiet Bajan neighborhood. Within easy walking distance of beach, Oistins, and buses that will take you anywhere on the island. Host John is an interesting man, well travelled and possess local knowledge for anything you could possibly want to do in Barbados. I would stay here again when I come back

There are clear differences between necessary questions (tourism and hospitality) and interrogation--there may or may not be an international investigation. The place was old and outdated. The room was extremely small and barely enough room to turn around. There was a shared bathroom down the hall. I intially booked my reservation for a 7 day stay; however due to the poor condition of the Hostel, I refused to stay there. I requested a cancellation and a refund, which Jo J's Hostel denied. It was a complete ripoff, they kept my money and I had to book somewhere else to stay!! This was the worst experience, I ever had, do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.
