My stay here was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable and inviting. I had a beautiful view of the beach from a balcony. Downstairs was the cutest cafe with delicious coffee and a friendly staff. There was also a back entrance that went straight to the boardwalk. My new favorite place to stay in OC.

The derelict fountain out front, the trash blowing about, the dead plants, the musty smell, the closed spa, the lack of servers for breakfast in the Grand Terrace, the neglected request for a high floor, the closed shops, the burning smell of a grill on the lobby level, and the guests next door smoking weed each day was enough for us to not want to stay here again. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and I'm sure it's somewhat better in the summer, but there are many other good choices for the price.
