Perfect boutique hotel!

Los Pilares was perfect -- close enough to everything near the center, but far enough away that it was peaceful and quiet. I loved the ability to take a dip in the pool or grab food at the rooftop restaurant. Would definitely stay here again!

With hand painted decor and and well maintained gardens Los Palardes has the feel of a hidden paradise. The rooftop restaurant has a very uplifting feel. The staff is very helpful and attentive.

Great hotel! A short walk to the centro. The pool and lounge areas were wonderful. Unfortunately my husband and I got sick while on this trip but the staff spoke good English and were great about directing us to a pharmacy. A perfect place to stay!

The rooms were lovely and it felt like you were in Mexico. The outdoor courtyard was beautiful and the rooftop pool was refreshing to cool off but there wasn’t always shade. The area is filled with restaurants and the streets are covered in artwork. Great hotel and great location.

My stay was enjoyable, however, the Hotel is grossly overpriced. What was not appreciated was the fact there wasn't even free coffee offered in the morning. I would expect at least coffee / pastries for the price I paid. My room was clean...and the shower was difficult to figure out how to use. I really like this Hotel, it's just super over priced.

This hotel is located within walking distance of coffee shops, and restaurants. The staff is very attentive and polite and room service is great. I really enjoyed the hotel having a terrace with restaurant services and bar. It would be an even better experience if the room had a small fridge for beverages etc.

Good location away from crowds but walkable to where everything is happening and nice outdoor terrace. One major negative though, the Wifi never worked and there isn’t celular signal in bedroom, so WiFi is a must. Staff tried to help but they had no idea how to fix it, even though they are friendly didn’t think they were qualified to deal with stuff like this. A/c in bedroom was directly in front of the bed so you would freeze at night, we tried moving the fan but there was no way.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The arrival welcome was great. Everything explained and demonstrated in detail from location of stores and restos nearby to recommendations to how to adjust the air conditioning and lights and which way to turn the knobs for hot water. All with humor and grace. The place is beautiful.

Like coming home!

Staying at LOS PILARES was like coming home. This place is charming, welcoming, adorable, comfortable, and with a staff that makes one never want to leave. Los Pilares is located very close to where everything happens in Oaxaca while being far enough to avoid the crowded streets and noise. From the moment that we walked into the lobby, we felt welcomed and when it was time to leave, we didn't want to! I would stay here anytime comingto Oaxaca. Special shout to Chris (front desk) who went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful!

I really enjoyed staying at Los Pilares because it is a beautiful building; my room was comfortable and the bed excellent; the rooftop garden and restaurant were lovely, and staff were very pleasant and helpful. My biggest problem was that mostly I couldn’t get the water to be hot. This greatly affects my willingness to get into the shower. I much prefer old local buildings like this one to a standard could-be-anywhere hotel when I travel and choose them if available. I know this means not having everything American-perfect. But hot water is really pretty essential. I still give it a top rating, but wistfully yearn for that water.
