What a wonderful little home-stay! If you're after somewhere quiet, yet still close to the centre of Nuwara Eliya, this spot it perfect. No frills, just a comfortable room at an affordable price. Only a short walk to food options (Royal Wok does an excellent biryani). It might be a little hard to find, but message Saman (e.g. via WhatsApp) and they'll collect you from wherever you need - even as far as Colombo airport! Andrew's Lodge is a great option for anyone looking to break up the trip along the spectacular Ella-Kandy railway. I only wish I had longer!

Had an amazing time ! Our trip had a very rocky start but the couple who owns the place were soo homely and treated us like their own daughters. We had an extremely good time, and we would love to stay with them again any time we ever visit ! Definitely recommend and will make your trip to Sri Lanka 1000x better.

Good value, quiet location in "little England"

Location is actually called Andrews Lodge. No signs leading to the location, so be sure to have a map or directions for your driver from the train station. Peaceful and more quiet location away from city center, but only a short 10-15 minute downhill walk into town. It is much colder in Nuwara Eliya, bring a jacket! Accomodation was basic and good value for backpackers considering how expensive the town of Nuwara Eliya can be. Shower was hot, tea kettle and cups provided in the limited kitchen. Not much food directly nearby, closest 5 minute option is Restaurant Guru, located at the King Fern Lodge, down the hill. The listing says $2 breakfast option available, but this is not correct. The bare bulbs in the rooms gave me a headache and the towels were stinky, old, and stale. The bedding could also use an update. I think this place could use a big update in the decor considering all of the young backpackers passing through.. Owner was nice and offered us transportation to Horton Planes for a fee, but we decided it was not worth it due to all the hefty entrance fees including a driver entrance fee. Overall I would recommend this place for a short one night stay if your on a budget.

The owners were really nice and even drove us to the bus stop when we checked out. The only and biggest problem was that there was no power. I know that’s not their fault but can’t really have a good experience without any power. No lights, can’t charge anything, no hot water so no shower, no Wi-Fi, etc. we originally booked for two nights but left early after the first night since we didn’t want to stay another day/night without power.

This place was so clean and we felt comfortable. The location was a bit inconvenient but they could prepare us local food for dinner and it was nice. The hot water wasn't hot enough but maybe because it was such a cold season. We left something behind but they kindly offered to send it to my family in Sri Lanka. For this price, it was satisfying.

Хостел достаточно комфортный, даже есть горячая вода, что не характерно для отелей такого уровня Шри Ланки, приветливые хозяева. Немного далековато находится от автостанции.

The BEST choice in Nuwara Eliya

Very comfortable, good breakfast, great staff. I stayed alone but had a wonderful time enjoying talking with the friendly owner. The very clean room has a good bathroom where I was able to take hot shower. I'd definitely stay here again! Thanks!
