Vacations Close To Nu'uanu Pali Lookout

Pros: Close to the beach. Rooms are clean and cozy. We had enough room to move our luggages around. Location is convenient as it's close to the International Market and the main waikiki strip. Beach Candy offers free rental supplies of beach necessities such as umbrella and chairs, definitely a perk! Staff are accommodating and pleasant. Cons: You have to request to have your room cleaned everyday or they'll do it once every other day. They don't change the beddings, only fix it. We had to ask for towels consistently. There were days when the hotel had a shortage of towels and we had to use beach towels. We had to ask for refills of toiletries as staff don't check whether supplies are running low or out. Housekeeping's always busy so they don't answer the phone often. It would be great if you can have more than 2 front desk staff checking in and checking out guests as the hotel is always busy.

Simple hotel on the end of Waikiki. Clean and simple with guest laundry. Nothing fancy and kind of feels like an old historical room. Bathrooms are tiny...the door wouldn't even open all the way. It does attract a younger crowd and the karaoke bar was always packed at night. AC struggled to keep the room cool during the day but at night it was fine.

Happy with all things

This is our second time staying at the Luana Waikiki hotel. The kitchenette is very helpful and makes things easier for us to save money and prepare/eat meals. We enjoyed eating our meals out on the balcony — our favorite place with an ocean view (14th floor). The staff were so friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave four stars is because we were surprised by the way our fitted sheet for our bed — it didn’t cover to the full wraparound. As a result, our fitted sheet would shrink and expose the mattress pad which had some soiled spots. Unpleasant to see. We told housekeeping but due to their three day cleanup rule, we already checked out on the fourth day. That’s the only disappointment we experienced.
