From the second we arrived, this place was stunning! We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beach front bungalow, which was a lovely treat and made our stay even more special.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful, so well cared for, clean and full of lovely little touches. Our room was spotless, cleaned daily with fresh towels, and bedding changed every few days. Plenty of hot water, a really good shower and drinking water provided in the room every day.
The Maasai staff were amazing. Always friendly, welcoming and made us feel safe throughout our stay. The restaurant team and reception staff were also incredibly helpful.
The pool is small but clean and peaceful, perfect for a quiet dip. The beach itself isn't really suitable for swimming, but it's stunning at all times of the day. One of our favourite finds was the sandbar about a 15-minute walk to the right along the beach. It was quiet, with only a handful of tourists, and we actually preferred it to Nakupenda!
Breakfast was pretty good, with a buffet on most mornings, a decent selection and fresh fruit every day. We ate dinner at the hotel a few times and really enjoyed the food. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty, and reasonably priced too.
One thing worth knowing is that the hotel doesn't serve alcohol due to religious reasons, but guests are welcome to bring their own for private consumption in their rooms.
We'd happily recommend Tanzanite Beach Resort
