Borgo Alveria was delightful. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, the room and facility were perfectly clean, and overall the property was beautiful, restful, and relaxing.

Amazing quiet relaxing stay in a chic rustic Italian property. Room is unique and sooooo comfortable with fabulous huge rock wall shower. Gorgeous grounds for strolling or enjoying a glass of wine or coffee in the serene setting. Gracious host with adorable grandson and dog! Wish we had planned a longer stay as this place is amazing and was a wonderful respite from city sightseeing. Highly recommend!

There were pros and cons to the property. Starting the pros, the property itself was very nice. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The family running the property were also very nice and helpful - good people. The Cons: It is in the middle of nowhere! It is very remote and the roads to left of the property were a disaster! As a North American, driving on these roads was no fun. Also, there are only 13 rooms, at night when we got back there was no-one there, if you have a problem at night you are in trouble. It is very peaceful but very remote, essentially at least 30 minutes drive to any town you want to go to.

Wenn Sie Halligalli suchen, sind Sie hier definitiv falsch. Wenn Sie die abgeschiedene Ruhe eines ehemaligen Klosters suchen, dann sind Sie hier richtig. Die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll renoviert, eine gelungene Kombination von alt und neu. Sie sind mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht und auch nicht braucht (Fernseher). Lediglich Mückengitter am den Fenstern wären schön. Das Frühstück wird von der Wirtin vollständig selber zubereitet, einschließlich des Gebäcks und ist hervorragend, nur der Kaffee erreicht leider nicht italienischen Standart und könnte besser sein. Die Wirtin und das Personal sind alle sehr, sehr freundlich, nett und zuvorkommend. Die Magie des Ortes ist aber die phantastische Ruhe, alle Gäste wurden von selber ruhiger und leiser, sprachen gedämpft. Man dort hört kaum einen menschengemachten Laut, lediglich die Geräusche der Natur. Ein wunderbarer Ort zum entspannen und sich von dem lauten Stress des Alltags zu erholen! Wir fanden es phantastisch. Vielen Dank.

Borgo Alveria: delightful, exquisite, peaceful....

Borgo Alveria is a blissfully secluded place....the family who host are most friendly and professionally reserved. The staff are quite wonderfully kind and helpful. The flora and fauna that live around and within are delightful........The rooms are exquisite, pool area neat and stylish.....the breakfast very very tasty. Simply put; this place is exceptional and we look forward to returning for a longer stay.

Nice but remote

This Agroturismo is built within an old monastery. We had a nice welcome by the owner. The room was very large and furnished with quality beds (parents and child). It also included a lounge corner. The bathroom is equipped with a nice walk-in shower and modern design fixtures that contrasts with the old stone walls and wooden beams. Breakfast was small but OK with fruits, cheese, home-made jams, eggs, etc. and a great coffee machine for a true Italian espresso. The ruins of Noto Antica are just a short walk away, i.e. a nice goal for a family walk or a short run. On the flip side, Borgo Alveria doesn’t have a restaurant. As the resort is located remotely on a small rural road, count at least 12-15 minutes to the nearest restaurant, or 25 minutes to reach the beautiful town of Noto.

Very classy place, nicely renovated. Is in a remote area. There is a lovely pool and the grounds are nicely kept. The breakfast which was included was excellent. Snacks and drinks are available during the day. There is NO restaurant on property. Some sites list a restaurant on property but there is not one. Host graciously made us a reservation in Noto for dinner and it was excellent. Staff is friendly. You must have a car as the property is off the beaten path.

Beautiful but totally unhospitable

The b&b is as beutiful as it looks from the photos, but... the advertized restaurant has actually been closed for over a year and no alternative is proposed. In the evenings you have the choice between a long drive on dark and winding roads, and bringing your own food. The host seems to ignore you are actually paying dearly to be there, so the microwave is locked up (no way to warm up your food) and only reluctantly will she provide plates and cutlery. Same for the pool, no service of any kind. But yes, they do charge you for the tea bags in your room. So worth going for the loveliness of the place, but don't make the mistake of staying more than one night. We had booked five nights thinking to be pampered in a quiet setting and enjoy day tours. Hospitality is not a word this host knows, at the end we letf one day earlier (not reimbursed).

Wonderful place!

This is an amazing place! Off the beaten path, but not too far from town, this farmhouse was exactly what I was looking for. Quiet, beautiful, and relaxing. The room was great - not too small, like many other places we stayed in Sicily, and had all the comforts we needed. Great shower, comfortable bed, and the swimming pool was an aded bonus. The sheep in the meadow just topped off a perfect experience here. And the iPad loaded with info in the room should be a standard in all hotels - very thoughtful and considerate! Will stay here again without hesitation!

Tip Top

Tolle Unterkunft in ruhiger Gegend, in der er sehr viel zu entdecken gibt. Die Unterkunft selbst hat einen tollen Pool und einen riesigen "Garten" (große Grünfläche) mit Hängematten und anderen diversen Sitzmöglichkeiten. Der Herrbergsvater Mario mag zwar etwas zurückhaltend sein, war aber immer freundlich und hat sich um jeden Wunsch gekümmert. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, das große Bett war super bequem. Zum Frühstück gab es verschiedenste Brot- und Kuchensorten, Wurst und Käse, frisches Obst, Ei, diverse Getränke, Quark...da blieb kein Wunsch offen. Es gibt außerdem ein eigenes Restaurant. Die Karte ist relativ klein gehalten, das Essen aber sehr gut. Wer es also etwas ländlicher und ruhiger mag und Wert legt auf eine gehobene Unterkunft, der liegt hier goldrichtig.

A Country Paradise

Beautiful setting, an old monastery surrounded by fig, olive and lemon trees. Very relaxed atmosphere - rooms spacious and decorated simply yet elegantly. The food is outstanding.

Très bel endroit , lieu très reposant .

Le Borgo Alveria est un très bel endroit , mais ...... il est éloigné de Noto ( sur le site il est stipulé 10km ,mais en fait c'est 13,5 km et nous ne sommes pas encore dans le centre de Noto ... On peut dire qu'il est plus prés des 18 km que des 10 km ) et de plus la route est étroite et sombre ,et le soir si on veut aller dîner sur Noto , c'est un peu rébarbatif ! et il n'y a pas de resto plus prés ,si ce n'est celui du Borgo ,mais la carte est un peu" étriqué ".En ce concerne l'accueil ,il manque un peu de chaleur , et le service est un peu "minimaliste" .

Quiet couple

Very relaxing and comfortable accommodation Good restaurant although menu didn't vary much Breakfast was quite basic and expected a little more. Restricted to only 1 coffee each otherwise charged extra. Couldn't use fridge for own drink / food and no poolside bar (as was advertised) and a long way away from nearest town so felt very isolated and meant couldn't really spend the whole day chilling as would have nothing to eat as a snack / drink during the day. Overall happy but not as good as other places we have stayed.

2e séjour et toujours aussi bien

Nous avions passé 3 nuits l'été 2015. Le lieu nous a tellement plu que nous avons réservé 5 nuits cet été. Tout est parfait au Borgo Alveria. La gentillesse du personnel, les chambres, la décoration, les petits déjeuners, le restaurant (uniquement le soir) avec les mets plus délicieux les uns que les autres, les paysages alentours. La proximité de Noto mais aussi de Syracuse et de la mer et qui ne sont pas trop loin. Le bon et bel endroit pour rayonner dans la Sicile baroque.
