“We found the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was good and plentiful. The rooms, at least ours, have been modernised but are on the small side; offering little space to relax when not out, dining or sleeping. This is not helped by the lack of comfortable furniture on which to relax in the public area (emphasis on the 'pub'). “My wife and I stayed for three nights at Bartles Lodge in August 2026. We were warmly welcomed by proprieters upon arrival. The premises were clean and comfortable, we opted for a continental breakfast and the selection offered was excellent. We ate two evening meals which were hot and tasty and well presented.
