Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
This is an old inn but everything is clean and functioning, for the price you're comparing to bad strip mall chain hotels. The room was GIANT, we had a fire in our room and the service at breakfast is great.
Breakfast was great and lovely... but the walls are paper thin we heard another couple making love twice... me and my wife decided we will not be returning.

Excellent and lovely location to stay in Norfolk and the vicinity. The staff were great, efficient and made us feel at home.
The rooms were very clean. The bathroom was meticulous. We were greeted upon arrival. They sent out emails to ask when we would be there to make sure someone would be there to greet us.
Staff and fellow travelers were friendly.
Breakfast setting lovely. Ladies very welcoming and friendly.
Loved the inn.
I would most definitely stay again.
Pool was open but didnt have time to use it..
A beautiful old Inn that has been well looked after. Breakfast was in a beautiful room and the food and service were both excellent. We also appreciated the complimentary cookies and chocolates in the foyer along with the tea and coffee facilities. The not so good points were the strong smell outside from the piggery (?) which thankfully couldn't be smelled from inside the building. Also the walls are paper thin so we were kept up by our neighbours who turned up late and had their TV going. The toilet paper is incredibly thin and what you might expect from a much cheaper place.
Beautiful, great property.. safe and delicious breakfast and staff at breakfast was amazing.. they were kind, patient and yummy food .. would stay again
We stayed one night on our way to Maine form Maryland. Our 1st floor room in the carriage house was cozy. Our favorite part of our stay was having breakfast in the morning room. The host served and prepared a wonderful breakfast -the fruit salad was the best ever.
An improvement would be to have grab bars installed in the tub.
Have stayed here before and each time had a wonderful experience. The staff was also extremely helpful and the accommodations were impeccable. The breakfasts were delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
