The staff was good. Check in was easy. We loved the traditional Japanese room. It was large and the views were incredible. Location was just what we were looking for. It is an older hotel and the bathroom smelled a bit old. We would return!

The most beautiful views from this hotel. A lovely Onsen onsite as well. We loved our time at this hotel as we stayed in a Japanese room. Would highly recommend.

This is our second stay at this hotel. It has fantastic onsens, great Japanese buffet, and the rooms are large and comfortable. Kinu-Tateiwa Otsuribashi, a famous suspension bridge, is right behind the hotel that leads to great sceneries. Hotel is approximately 12 min walk to Kinugawaonsen Station, and offers shuttle bus in the morning to the station by request. Next time we visit Nikko, we definitely go to this hotel again!

Very friendly and helpful staff who spoke English well! Lots of amenities and loved the private onsens. The building was a little outdated and the air conditioner didnt work well so we couldnt get rid of the slight smell the room had. Overall with their breakfasts and views too, I'd come back.

Had a great stay here! The room was beautifully styled with tatami and was probably the biggest hotel room we've ever had in Japan, being almost the size of a small apartment. The views around are simply breathtaking, and even if it is an older building, it is very well maintained. The onsen areas are fantastic, and if going with a partner, I'd highly recommend booking one of the private ones if available. I'd also recommend booking the breakfast buffet, as it was very good with a great amount of options. The staff are the best part, however. Immediately we felt welcome, and they were always attentive and ready to assist with anything. They're the real sunshine here! Would gladly come back in the future.
