Absolutely loved the location, literally a five minute walk to the most beautiful swimming beach! We deeply appreciated the warm welcome from the host and his friendly wee dog! We felt right at home and very comfortable for our entire stay! The host even marked out all the sights on a map for us to explore. Our breakfast was delicious and we had so much selection to choose from. We would definitely stay here again !

Gill, the proprietor is a gem! So helpful during the months prior to my visit and once I got here. My luggage was lost and he accommodated me so I could be comfortable and get on with my visit to Nice. I absolutely loved my little room overlooking the beautiful tree lined boulevard. Breakfast was delicious. Great vibes at this place!

We had a great stay and appreciate the nice breakfast and helpful suggestions from Gilles. We booked the room with attached small extra sitting and kitchen space and that was perfect. The bathroom is small and shower a step up so not perfect if mobility issues. Location in the city is great with the tram to the airport right across the street. Appreciate the convenience of an ice maker. Located in a beautiful old building.

It's near everything: the Promenade des Anglais, restaurants, tram station a couple of yards away. The hotel manager/owner is very knowledgeable. He made me a map and told me about the best things to see in the area and how to get there. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay......

Hotel V.H. is brilliantly placed for tramway and thus easy journey from airport, very doable walk into old town and access to prom . It is in a very quaint, quirky and beautiful building, occupying the ground floor.Once you become accustomed to this, it is actually VERY good value for money.Gilles, who runs the Hotel, is very pleasant and helpful, and has a great sense of humour. We were very happy with our stay, and wouldnt hesitate to return to Hotel Victor Hugo.

Our plane was delayed, and the reception closes at 7 pm. We talked to the manager, but there was nothing to do, we had to book another hotel that night. They wouldn´t wait ore leave a key. Very bad service !

Great Hotel in Nice close to the beach

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was neat and clean. The AC was cold and a life saver as a refuge from the heat. Bathrooms were also clean. The water lines were a bit noisy but overall we had a pleasant experience at this hotel and it was located in a nice walkable area.

This hotel is so charming, and perfectly located. As for Gilles, the hotel owner, he was so friendly, helpful and pleasant to speak with each day - full of great suggestions about what to visit, and incredibly helpful with directions, etc. As for the daily self-service breakfast - PERFECT. The selection of continental items available to choose from were all of the best quality, and it was a great way to start each day. We would stay here again in a heart-beat.

Dirty room with great location

The location of the Hotel is great! The owner is very nice and helpful. Our room was not very clean and the daily cleaning included new toilettepaper and a spreading of the bedsheet, noting more. We had a room with a pentry and the dishes wre not made, so we startet with doing that with a towel from the bathroom. Breakfast was included, bread, butter, cheese and ham. Worked for a short stay.
