Hotel is located in a wonderful location on a street with many restaurants and shops, and only a few minutes walk to the ocean and promenade. However rooms are tiny and bathroom is miniscule, similar to a ship's cramped quarters. Elevator is the size of a small box, will not fit you and a big suitcase. Staff pleasant but baffled by simple requests such as directions to the train station. House keeping does not do thorough job either. But good for those on a budget who want an excellent location in Nice

It’s small but has everything you need. The location is great just one block from the ocean. The beach is great. Hotel Manager Kurt was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there. I would recommend it to anyone.

I would like to rate the Hotel de la Fontaine, “Very Good”, as it was positioned in an ideal location, central but being set just behind the main promonade of Nice, provided both enough quietness, and at the same time was close to plentiful choice of nice restaurants for dining and nice shops. The hotel staff were all so helpful and attentive both night staff&day staff, and made myself feel very welcome. The Hotel de la Fontaine provided great service at all times and included at request a good breakfast,where you could enjoy eating outside in a peaceful patio area or inside the hotel ,was good value for money. The cleanliness and up keeping of my room was excellent, as the cleanliness of the hotel was throughout. For a relatively small hotel, it delivered very much on warmth and charm, I would be more than happy to stay here again on my next visit to Nice. I would like to thank all the staff for their help and kindness and for providing me with a wonderful stay and holiday in Lovely Nice. Thank you, Merci.

This hotel is in a fabulous location. Right in the middle of everything! Yes the rooms are small but they are only for sleeping. The beach is a block away and there are all kinds of options for shopping and food. Their breakfast is excellent. The staff speaks perfect English. Can’t go wrong with this choice!

The staff at Hotel de la Fontaine are among the best I've ever encountered. Kurt, the manager, is an absolute wizard at solving all problems and providing everything a guest could want. Their location is perfect for access to the beach, restaurants, cafes, and shopping. I would gladly stay there again and highly recommend it.

Great stay

The hotel is great, perfectly located a block from the beach and close to restaurants and supermarkets. 15-10 minute walk to the Tram and Train station. The hotel provides beach umbrellas and padded blankets. The staff was amazing and so sweet. Room is tiny and no fridge. Overall great stay.

Perfect location

Location are perfect. Just a short walk to the square and trams. Also very close to the Promenade and the sea. Breakfast are basic, but good. Will definately consider again.

This property has been recently completely renovated and is an absolute gem. In old Nice in shopping area one block from famous promenade . Small room but new facilities with everything you need. Friendly staff speak English! Excellent value for money highly recommended

While the staff were very helpful and the place was clean, that was where the positives ended. There were many issues with the room. Besides it being too small for our luggage to comfortably fit, there was nicked paint, the flooring was discolored, and some of the door trim was shredded. Most of the issues were in the bathroom. The toilet paper holder kept falling off the wall, the sink stopped could only go up a tiny bit so the water drained too slowly, water from the shower would leak if the door wasn’t closed a particular way, but the kicker was the pocket door. It had no bottom track so when you tried to close the door it would swing far out, so the door was never fully closed.

I stayed at Hotel de la Fontaine for 3 nights and had such a wonderful experience. The location couldn’t be better — just a few steps from the beach and the famous Promenade des Anglais, and also close to plenty of restaurants, cafés, and shops. It’s ideal if you like exploring Nice on foot. My room was not huge but very comfortable, spotless, and nicely decorated. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was clean and modern. Everything felt well cared for and thoughtfully maintained. The staff were genuinely friendly, always smiling, and happy to help with recommendations or directions. They really made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere of the whole hotel is peaceful and cozy, a perfect little haven in the city. For the price and the location, I think it’s excellent value. I’d definitely stay here again the next time I visit Nice. 🌸
