The bed was clean but uncomfortable. The shower was definitely not cleaned thoroughly as there was a booger on the wall inside and there was a razor left behind. Views and location were great. Staff were kind and helpful, but for the price, this stay was not comfortable.

There was nothing to like it was dirty windows was broken stained carpets had to ask for towels no in the room the quilt cover had stains on and the lift did not work tried other hotels but most was full

The most terrible experience we have ever had. No towels, no soap, only one pillow that was one inch deep. When we asked for towels were given 2towels size of a hand towel. That’s all we have got. They only come once a week. No one came all week to service the room. Beds lumpy and very uncomfortable. Windows filthy could hardly see through. Lift kept breaking down. Would never stay there again.

It’s in great location just infront of the sea view and all shops and restaurants are next to the hotel . Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful . I will definitely comeback again.

Worst hotel I,ve ever stayed in! Filthy dirty,the room smelled of sewage,the toilet was leaking,dirty towels on the floor,no loo roll,no tea/coffee not even a teaspoon and there were cigarette butts inside the kettle ! Sheets looked grubby but cleaner than the carpet. Banging all night,just awful.I,d have been better off on a park bench ! AVOID

This was easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Very surprised that Expedia retain it. Nothing like photos. My original room was  so bad, I was given a better one after a couple of days, but still the taps and tv didn't work properly. Various patched up fittings. Windows in very bad state. Rooms not made up each day as it was not their policy. Waste bins not emptied. Had to ask for clean bedding but not provided. Bedding in corridoors. Lifts dont work. Smelly. Patched up fittings. No facilities. Was sure I booked breakfast but not available. Staff dont care and some were outside smoking etc instead of manning Reception Desk. During last two years it was used to rehouse asylum seekers and now a shell of how it used to be. It is a run down slum. I never thought Expedia would use such a disgusting place. Am amazed your Inspectors approved it. It is a hostel at best. There are very many other bad reviews on social media and every guest I spoke to agreed.  I have many photos as proof.  I WANT A FULL REFUND. I have contacted Trading Standards who advised me to contact you first. I am also obtaining legal advice etc.   I want one of your staff to contact me to discuss all this.

Was so dirty, was absolutely disgusting in that hotel, it shouldn’t even be open in my opinion or take guests. I organised a hen do and was completely disappointed. I will never be trusting Expedia again for my hotel bookings. Avoid this hotel at all costs, I didn’t even want to sleep in the bed with no clean sheets or mattress toppers, didn’t even have clean towels for our stay. The fire safety was non existent. Bottles shoved under doors to keep fire doors open, no fire exit information on the back of the door. The door had been adjusted and was a massive gap up the top so wouldn’t even protect us if there was a fire. The bathroom was disgraceful, the shower smelt like urine and the floor was so dirty. When exiting the shower if you put your feet on the floor they were instantly black. No mat was provide to step out onto either. The check in time was 3pm on arrival at 3pm the room wasn’t ready, was unable to check in until 4.15pm. I have never ever stayed somewhere like this, I would say a hostel would have been better than that. For what you pay it wasn’t cheap at all, this was false advertisement as the photos look nothing like the room. The curtains were hanging off and wouldn’t close, there was a hole in the bathroom door which looked like it had been punched by someone. The smell of the hotel was disgusting, smelt of smoke and dirty wet dog, the carpets were disgusting and all stained.The dirty bedding was dragged down the stairs and placed in the downstairs on floor

The only one good thing about this hotel they let us check in early. The hotel had a bad smell in reception area on arrival. Are room was so basic! Had no trowels, no toliet roll and no hot water. Had 2 tv in room none of them worked. About 4am to 6am there was a lot screaming and shouting outside hotel. When I went downstairs in morning there was loads of young men all asleep around reception area know one on reception to report anything to. This honestly was the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in and cost me £170 for the night.

The Hotel is in a poor condition and needs renovation in all areas. From the smell you can clearly say they have an issue with mold. Elevators are not working. Restaurants had obviously been closed for a while. The reception staff was friendly and the location is nice but those are the only positive comments i can make.

The only thing about the Beresford hotel was that the sheets were clean,the sink had no plug, there was no soap in the sink dispenser, the shower curtain was dirty, the TV didn't work, I had to go to reception to get a towel, the second window wouldn't close and there was no breakfast not even coffee available in the morning in one word dreadful

A tired hotel in need of modernisation. Few staff, little parking available, even simple things like no TV in the room. Our room had a skylight that couldn't be closed off so light in the room very early and the skylight was a magnet for the seagulls. Would recommend looking at other options before booking here.

This hotel was a disgrace and Hotel.com should not be affiliated with it in any way. The bed was broken, the room smelled strongly of smoke, the carpets were digesting and it didn’t feel safe. There were 2 guests who showed me photos on they’d taken of a large amount of mouldy, rotten food from the kitchen and the bar area had dirty mattresses piled up from floor to ceiling. One of the ladies had been bitten by insects/bugs during her few hours in the lobby. I didn’t stay and ended up spending a small fortune to book into the Premier Inn next door. I didn’t even ask for a refund at the time as the ladies had been trying to get one for hours. Do not visit this hotel, the pictures are totally misleading.

How hotels like this stay open are a mistery. The hotel is in terrible condition and it's nothing like the pictures on the website shows. There were mattresses just sitting near the staircase leading up to the rooms. The area where the bar should have been, was a derelict and there was no bar whatsoever. The room was nothing like you would expect for the price. The soap holders in the bathroom were empty. You wouldn't pay more than £30 should you see the state of the place before booking. Avoid at all cost.

First of all, the manager was very helpful - a nice guy from Egypt. So I want to make that clear - it's not his fault, or his wife or toddler who were in the lobby a lot while I waited 45 mins to check in. But the rooms were just so bad. Stains on the floor, tiny 12" TV on the wall and so hot I had to sit there with no clothes on in order to tolerate it. Upon which one fo the staff walked into my room without knocking to ask if I had towls. Again, I was naked. No, there were no towls and I had to dry myself with my own clothes. I don't think they had a bar or any ammienties, it was more like a run down hostel with seperate bedrooms. I had the view of a skip with a filthy mattress in it, I kid you not. It was so bad I checked out after a couple hours and booked a hotel further up the road which was much better. I didn't ask for my money back becuase I should have checked the reviews before. It's totally my fault for booking without doing so. If you are a young couple on a really tight budget and don't mind being really hot and sleeping somewhere not very nice, this is a cheap option, but for everyone else I would look elsewhere. Honestly, I would say this is a 1 star hotel, and I'm rating 2 stars becuase the manager was nice. Again, I just want to be clear the manager was really nice and looked crestfallen when I said he was checking out. He was a really nice guy and it's not his fault the hotel he works at is bad.
