The main thing that made our stay a good experience was the staff, they were doing a good job. and made time to stop and chat. they realy look after the hotel and the guests who come to stay giving a good impression.they explained about the hotels past history that it was founded by the owners who built the cross country railway. It made our stay all the more interesting.thanks to the good people in newquay cornwall. and staff in the great western hotel.

Very close to the beach with great sea views. Unfortunately the lift was not working and the hotel was waiting to have the lift repaired, the hotel was very apologetic and this was understandably out of their control.

The hotel was perfect for a few nights ...room fine...shower good with decent force... Pub part was good for breakfast and evening meal...also had entertainment on the friday night...great views from outdoor seating area...all staff lovely... No issues with the hotel it was just the area outside had alot of tired looking buildings...closed shops... Did have a morrisons opposite which handy as forgot a few things ....burger king...domino's and a few chinese We hadnt pre booked parking which was limited spaces but we parked over the road which was £12 per 24 hours in the station car park...you could pay it all.in one go...display the ticket and not have to go back each day to put on a new ticket... It suited everything we needed for a weekend

Quite a rundown seaside hotel, needs a refurb, but as a last minute booking for 1 night the room was fine, clean, spacious. Tiny TV too far from the bed if that is your thing. On site parking was unexpected, reasonable, but book in advance at peak times, not a lot of it. Cannot comment on food, hotel breakfast is something I often give a miss.

Rooms tired, stained and mouldy ceiling (Room 202). Hot water took ages to arrive at basin. Room seemed damp and fusty. Room next door had visitors every 20 minutes during the night. Works going on at adjacent property in the night using sanding machines intermittently.
