The view from our room was awesome. The Staff was so friendly and helpful. If I was to complain about anything which I won't it would be that I would love a hot breakfast in this amazing establishment!

The room was a nice size, breakfast was good, but you had to be there early to grab something before it was gone, the bed was comfortable. The only thing was it was loud, you could hear everything going on outside and because it was spring break, the kids were out late and it sounded like they were right outside our door. I would stay here again but I would choose a different room or stay when it's not so busy.

We used to love staying at the Doryman, but sadly this was our last time. The area surrounding the inn is just too noisy. It is surrounded by bars and restaurants that stay open late. Even after they close, people hang out in front of the restaurants and talk loudly into the wee hours of the morning. The tranquility that used to exist while sleeping and experiencing the ocean views and breezes, are no longer. I recommend the city pass a noice ordinance or loitering policy that can be enforced.

Great location across from the beach. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative is that the hotel is in a busy area with numerous bars and restaurants nearby, so there is a fair amount of street and neighborhood noise. Overall, a fun spot for a short stay.

Dorymans’s was in an excellent central location with easy beach access and walkable to many restaurants, coffee shops and stores. We loved the shared patio and rooftop views as well as the complimentary coffee and breakfast snacks. Staff was super friendly and helpful and included parking is always a plus! Would visit again!

Staying at Doryman’s Oceanfront Inn was unlike any hotel experience I’ve had before. The property has this incredible old-world Victorian charm that immediately makes you feel transported to another era, yet it still feels cozy and luxurious at the same time. Every room feels unique, full of character, and thoughtfully designed — definitely not your typical cookie-cutter beachfront hotel. The location is unbeatable, directly across from the Newport Pier and steps from the beach, but what really makes this place special is the atmosphere. Between the antique-inspired décor, oceanfront views, rooftop spaces, and the sound of the waves at night, the entire stay felt romantic and memorable. It’s the kind of place that feels hidden and personal rather than commercial. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. We cannot wait to go back! We stayed in room 6 and it was amazing. The room was very clean, beautiful and quiet. Loved the attached patio that overlooks Newport Beach. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful too. The views are breathtaking! Everything was perfect.

This hotel was so adorable. Beautifully antique. Our room was cozy and the fireplace was warm and inviting. Our view of the ocean from our room was beautiful, and even better from the roof lounge area. Breakfast was lovely. I enjoyed the chia pudding! What a unique and wonderful experience!

The evening staff was 10/10 pleasant and helpful. The room was clean. The decor is dated and tired. Beware--- this hotel is in the "epicenter of 5 college bars." The police intervention occurred at 1am which disrupted sleep.

very nice place. comfortable bed. windows allow fresh air, although there is some noise from restaurant and bar guests outside till close to midnight. really liked roofdeck with ocean views, ideal for a sundowner. one thing that I missed was a water kettle in room. breakfast only starts 7.30 and a tea/coffee before that time would have been great.
