What a Gem in a brilliant location. The staff were very attentive and professional throughout my stay. The food was excellent and I would not hesitate in going back.
The so called big boys of the hotel industry could learn from The Slaters Country Inn.
Stayed many many times over many years and always enjoyed the very friendly staff and the nice ambience AND the food. Also, great real ale!
Very clean, good sized, comfortable rooms.
Great food in the restaurant but this time the pork was not to my liking.
Also, couldn't help but notice the reduced service at breakfast---where did those tiny coffee cups come from!? Also, I have to get my own coffee now. Small changes but is it the thin edge of the wedge! BUT, great staff!
Very enjoyable and snug night. Restaurant was excellent.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location. The room was lovely containing all the amenities and beautiful furnishings. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Very nice hotel, it’s nice to go somewhere that is traditional rather than the same as any other hotel
Whilst we didn’t eat in the restaurant for dinner the food looked beautiful
Bed was soft but comfortable no aircon so very warm in the night even with windows open
We would come again

Very relaxing
Really lovely hotel in a nice location. Very comfortable homely room. Nice bar and restaurant attached. Very friendly staff.
I use this lovely country hotel / pub about 4 times per year, nice quiet location, friendly staff, typical pub / restaurant, busy enough but not crowded and with good beer and food, lovely breakfast served by a real character, would recommend.
Lovely hotel, I've now used them 4 times when travelling to this area, comfortable rooms, lovely country pub attached with good food and friendly service.
Beautifully renovated, clean room and bathroom. Water, coffee, tea, hit chocolate and toiletries were priced as were an iron and mini ironing board.
The bed was very firm but ok. I would have preferred a super king, but it was king size. The pillows however were thin and hard.
We slept with the window open and despite being roadside it was quiet and we were not disturbed.
Really friend recptionist.
Breakfast coffee could be better
Really good stay. Staff were excellent and good fun.
They sorted the allocation of an extra room at short notice to solve a family issue. Highly recommended with sincere thanks.
Had a fab 2 nights stay , bed comfy, room quiet lovely outlook into the beautiful garden. Bathroom had some decoration issues but that didn't impact our stay. Staff absolutely excellent!! So lovely & nothing too much trouble.

Nice location, very rural. The room has seen better days, in need of decorating, carpets worn etc but everything you need. The pub is also nice, the food was very good, although they seemed to be short staffed. Nice place just needs decorating....

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Room comfort
Accommodation was separate from the actual hotel. The room was very cold.
Really pleasant and comfortable hotel, with a very good restaurant.
Would like a fridge in the room and a reading light - hard to read a paper.
I never have breakfast - so the “free” breakfast is wasted on me!
