We had a lovely welcome which set the scene for our entire stay. The bedroom was quirky and very comfortable with the most beautiful sea view. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was huge and really tasty. We loved our stay at Avoca and are already planning our next visit. Have recommended it to friends and family already.

A lovely 2 night stay at this very convenient hotel on Newcastle Main Street. Great view of the sea from the family room on the 1st floor. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was lovely including breakfast and with parking just round the corner it was a great location.

The Avoca is located along the sea front and the foot of the Mourners mountains. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our stay which was to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff kindly presented her with a bottle of prosecco and birthday card - much appreciated. The room and bathroom were very clean and well supplied. The bed and bedding very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the kitchen was willing and able to prepare items that were not on the menu. The bar selection was fine with some tasty whiskies. We are an "elderly" 7couple and the layout of the hotel was challenging - no lift, climbing stairs, some of which had no handrail - which we brought to the attention of management. Also some areas were poorly lit. Given the unusual layout of the hotel, staff were helpful and supportive with baggage etc and this was appreciated by us. Overall, a warm friendly and well-located hotel which proved to be good value for money.

We very much enjoyed a lovely one night stay at the Avoca. We had the most fantastic view from our room overlooking the sea and Mourne mountains. The room was really nicely decorated, cosy and had a large comfy bed. Everything was very clean and well presented. All the staff we came across were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was also excellent - great choice and plentiful. Overall a real gem of a stay and we will definitely be back!

The perfect stay

Really loved the avoca had a real 5 star feel to the place my room was really cosy great bed and an amazing shower was perfect the staff were so nice and friendly also the breakfast was fantastic had a great choice thank you.
