Very pleasant overnight stay. Excellent food and service from friendly staff. Attractive setting. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Warm despite the cold weather. We enjoyed every meal in the restaurant at the hotel. The service was excellent. I don’t recall the last time we dined out that the waitress and waiter were so nice. The dishes we tried were so good!!

Gothic style hotel in superb, quiet surroundings

Comfortable stay is a period property in beautiful grounds. Only 2 downsides to spoil the perfection - fire alarm fault at 2300 on 1st night and a tiny kipper fillet at breakfast in the morning otherwise faultless.

Beautiful old house and excellent location. It does need money spending on upgrades though, specially plumbing and in some areas decor. There were several guests who had room changed, we ended up in the room with doggy shower after someone else vacated it - it was better than the room with the bees nest. Staff were brilliant and coped with the various issues well despite being stretched.
