The Thayer hotel is the best and only place worth staying in this very small town. It is conveniently located right outside the entry gate to the United States Military Academy. The restaurants on site are spectacular. Each room is dedicated to a service member that graduated from West Point with original photographs and tells the story of their time served. It was a wonderful experience.

We had a large group at the hotel for a nearby wedding. The property is beautiful and the service was great. The bell staff, the front desk, and the servers were responsive and helpful.

Very clean and well maintained hotel. The pub was very good and the location could not have been better. It’s basically on West Point’s campus and it’s gorgeous. You can walk to several restaurants and bars although the town is a lot smaller than anticipated. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if I were to return.

Spotless. Historic. But, the grounds are lacking. No outdoor activities other than deck eating. There are beautiful views of the Hudson River. Otherwise, a bit stuffy in the lobby.

Clean area. Good choice on breakfast buffet. I think the front desk should be able to explain better all the in town options for good food. We found places that were great, not just the one recommended, which was Westy’s.

This is a classic, older hotel just off of the West Point post. It looks and feels like an academy property, from the decor to the plentiful military exhibits throughout the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful also. A great experience.

Fantastic stay! Unique and castle-like property. Sandy was an amazing server at the high end restaurant. I recommend the tomahawk pork chop, which can be made into a gluten free dish. Cocktails were tasty and worth the calories. I would stay again!
