“We were walking the Pennine Way and stopped off at Bongate House after reaching Dufton and after walking/backpacking for most of the day. We had a very friendly welcome from Ann who on arrival looked after our every need. Breakfast was ample and tasty. The property suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ann!”

“Food was good. Luxury room was not luxurious. Very small. Carpets on stairs need seeing to as are a trip hazard. Bar area, windows need a very good clean! Cobwebs and dust must have been there quite a while.”

“The property was was pretty much as expected, The room was clean and big. The issue we had was there did not seem to be sufficent sound deading between the rooms, as we could hear voices from other rooms. Could not hear what they were saying, but could near the noise. Luckily they went to bed about the same time we did and did not wake up before we did, but it not what we wanted or expected. It was in a very isolated location. “Booked this last minute as a 1st stop on a trip around the lakes area, My goodness, I know they say you get what you pay for, but you don't expect to see insects crawling in your bed or on the bedside tables!!!. Asked to be moved immediately which in fairness they did move us to a room on the 1st floor which was adequate but still dirty carpet, tired looking etc Whole place needs a refurb, which I doubt Best Western will be doing anytime soon, and as such the price reflects the condition of...

Cruzabas el puente y estabas en el centro de Kendal.Kendal un poco aburrido con horarios muy restringidos para comer.Cerca de la estación de autobuses para los lagos, bien comunicada.”
