This is our third stay at The Moore, and we have recommended it to others for its relaxed, urban vibe. We love the Chelsea location--you can walk to the High Line (about a half mile) and the Theater District (about a mile), you have a variety of restaurants to choose from, and the nearest subway is just a block away. Be aware that the rooms are a bit small, but that's not unusual for NYC, and there are common areas to sit in both on the ground floor and on the roof top. I recommend booking an inside room because the Eighth Avenue traffic never stops, even late at night. A big shoutout to the staff, who are consistently friendly and helpful.

I love staying at The Moore. The breakfast options are great for a busy morning. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Whilst they aren’t the biggest this is not a problem for me as the spec is solid. I regularly return.

We chose this hotel primarily for the location in Chelsea to be near some family who live in the area. It was nice not to be in a huge chain hotel, but 8th Avenue is definitely a very noisy street if your room fronts on to it. The staff was gracious and friendly, and everything was clean and easy. The rooms are really quite small though if you have two people staying in them. There was only a bedside table on one side of the bed, no place to put open up your suitcase except for on the bed, and a small closet without any drawers for clothes. It is efficient, but cramped, If you are traveling solo, the room would have been more comfortable. They also give you a $40 'chip' that you can use at the bar for drinks or coffee or pastries, but there is this very odd rule that you have to use it all in one go, so you can't get a drink the night you arrive, and then use it for coffee and pastries the next day. It's very nice to have what is in effect a $40 voucher, but why the single usage rule? Nobody could really explain it to me. If I travel alone I would stay there again as the location was good and the beds very comfortable.
