The hotel was clean, and everything was as expected from the pictures. The location is a plus, very close to Soho and Noho, very accessible to train stations and also there are a lot of options to grab a bite or a drink nearby. The only thing is that the price for this specific time of the year is way too high for what you are actually getting. But everything was clean and proper, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

This hotel was very clean. Location is great! Bathroom space is a little tight for getting ready. The only drawback to this hotel is that there is no room key. Everytime you leave and would like access to your room again you must ask the front desk to open the door.

This a clean facility in a location easy to get uptown for museums and theater. Walking is easy in soHo and the Bowery. In my 4 day stay the coffee in the common area was not consistently available. Like so many small hotels in NYC there was no ice available. The room was never cleaned in the four days

The place was clean and the check-in was fine. However, there were some major problems that may have been fixed by now: 1) the electronic key making machine was out-of-order so you had to wait for staff to open your room, 2) the AC control didn't work, 3) the shower would NOT heat up.

Nice hotel, decent price, excellent location near metro and some NY emblematic restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable. No complaints at all. Next time in NY I will stay in this hotel for sure

This was a great place to stay. Justin made the stay even more welcoming. Everything was clean and presentable and the rooms are good for two. If you want to explore all day - this is the place! Also very safe. Good pizza next door!

Staff were great. Especially the night time staff member. Always cheery and greeted us when we returned. Not much tv channels for night time but that didn’t matter. Our room wasn’t cleaned once over the 4 nights which I thought was weird. Good hotel to get your head down at night.

We stayed at the Gatsby Hotel for 4 nights. It’s located in an ideal neighborhood in the East Village which is very accessible to shops, bars, and the train. It was very easy to get here from Penn Station. The room was overall very clean. The hotel key card maker was not working for the entire 5 days we were there, so staff had to let us in our room each time we needed to go up. This did not ruin the stay but each night they told us that it would be fixed the following day, and that was not true. Additionally, house keeping did not attend to our room (we did not have DND on the door knob). We had to find the linens closet to get additional towels and toilet paper. Our trash would just pile up. Luckily our AC was working despite other reviewers having that issue.

The hotel is fine if you're planning on being out all day and just sleeping there. The handle to turn on our shower was broken and the mattress slid every time you sat on the bed. Other things like the handles to the closet were broken but that didn't really impact our stay - just made it feel a bit more janky. I will say that we appreciated the strong AC in the room especially during the heat wave. The room got the job done but I probably wouldn't stay here again.

The accessible room was "Garden Apartment Style" -- i.e. in the basement --but this was a small, clean, quiet well-kept hotel in a perfect location for my needs. Nothing fancy but highly recommended for anyone who wants to be located in the West Village, SoHo, Lower East Side.

The location is great. It’s close and walkable to many places like Soho, whole foods, many restaurants, etc. The AC worked great. The only thing is two out of the three plugs in our room barely worked. The TV was there but couldn’t turn on. Just FYI, you will have to pay around $16/night for amenity fees tht u can’t deny. If u care about saving money and having access to everywhere, it’s okay but it’s def not luxury.

Best location in NY -- the heart of downtown. The room was beautiful, the water was warm, even hot if needed. Our room was on the 5th floor. AC worked great. Some noise on Saturday night at 2 am and 4 am -- when the bars close, it sounded like the police were on hand to help the college students keep control of themselves. The people who staffed the front desk were not open to questions, however the breakfast staff and the room attendants were helpful. Breakfast was just fine -- hot coffee, hot chocolate.

This is a great option it you’re on a budget. It’s not a 5 star hotel, and there are some things that are a little annoying (hot water can be iffy, internet is not great) but for this price, it’s an amazing bargain. It’s clean and its stylish. I’d stay there again. And I used to live in the neighborhood, so it was fun to be there again!
