I chose this place for the position as it is right next door to the museum and research centre in the middle of town. I made a mistake pre booking as when I checked in I overheard a walk-in getting a room for $38 dollars less per night than I had paid so think about the busyness of the hotel in winter. The restaurant seems expensive as there are great eateries within easy walking distance with cheap breakfast, lunch and dinner options ( you do get 15% discount if you open an account with the hotel)

We had a great experience at the Millennium Hotel. The food at their restaurant “Salt” was very good. The VIP perk contributed to the meal. The hotel is well located across from the beac, and easy walking distance to the downtown area.

Great central location in the centre of the city. Room was clean but just a few little things that would make all the difference - kids handprints in the mirror, fittings on the spa bath a bit old/discolored, toilet seat hand-modified to fit. Not majors but just makes it feel a little bit less than an excellent experience for the price paid. Staff were lovely and room was very adequate for our weekend stay. Probably best avoided if you can't handle inner city noise, cars, Saturday night people sounds etc but we found it fine for our needs. Great eating options very close by, bottle shop and chemist over the road. No bathrobes provided, apparently they don't have any... despite many of the website listings saying they do.

One of the nicer hotels in New Plymouth. Clean, well maintained, attentive staff and service. Down by the waterfront and easily accessible to the restaurants and bars around the township. Will definitely book this again for our next trip
