Great location and New Orleans feel!

We had a great time and couldn't have asked for a better experience checking in! The hotel is quirky and fun and great location that still feels safe. We will be staying here if ever back to play in New Orleans!

Fun, funky hotel in the perfect location!

Took a long, Easter weekend with my husband and this hotel made it even better! Great staff, comfy, large room and wonderful balcony in the perfect location! We are already planning our next visit!

French Quarter Hotel

Our stay was great. Our only complaint about the hotel was that there was no hot water in the evening.

Great Location!

WE had a great time and a great experience! The hotel's location really can't be beat, close to the action, but 2 block off bourbon street so it was quieter when we needed to rest. Having an in-room kitchen was handy too for left-overs or quick breakfasts. Great friendly staff, highly recommend!

Hidden Gem in FQ

The rooms in this place were all suites with full or mini kitchens separate living and/or breakfast area. It doesn't look like a hotel from the inside and they don't have a bar or restaurant, but the rooms are really really nice.

Great hotel on the west edge of the french quarter

Had a great stay, the room was very nice and the air con works a treat. The room is in good nick and all the mod cons are available for use during the stay. Perhaps the bathroom was on the small side but I would be stretching to say its a problem.

Decent stay

First time to the Quarter. Unless you are going to this area to drink and party, I would suggest staying somewhere else in NOLA. No free parking, overnight cost $45 to park 6 blocks away. June was very nice. Room was above average. Lot's of crazy a$$ people in the area though.

Unique hotel, funky décor

Loved the hotel-funky cool décor, great location. Laura the morning clerk was a great source of information, helpful, and extremely nice. We stayed here after a cruise in room 3. There was a kitchenette and a queen bed in a large room and the other room had two king beds. Our friends had room 7 with a beautiful balcony we enjoyed in the evening. After being on the cruise ship we loved all the space. We dropped our luggage off early in the morning after the cruise and Laura gave us a map and a list of great restaurants and attractions that she recommended. Easy to walk to everything. So glad we didn't stay in another cookie cutter hotel.

Good Stay

Our stay was great. The building is older than dirt...the photo of the front of the building is a tad bit misleading. One of our rooms was obviously newly remodeled and wonderful. The room with the balcony was clean and comfortable but old-er. I think the photos of this particular room are a little misleading as well. Overall, the two nights we were there, was just fine. Make note that there is NO elevator and a ton of stairs (if your room is above floor 1)...so be prepared! Location is good and definitely easy to walk to French Quarter destinations.

Unique hotel lobby, with a great space for a group

The lobby has unique decor with manaquins and disco lights at night. But the size of the room is phenomenal, perfect for a group. We had some issues with not having power to half our room and they fixed it right away - a breaker had been tripped before we arrived. There was a loud pump that went off every 5 minutes all night long in the master bedroom where my husband and I slept, so we put on some music and were fine. Overall, for the amount of space, in the heart of the French Quarter, at the low price we paid, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Perfect location to walk to everything.

First, the code for the front gate that we were given was wrong and we got locked out twice. Second there was no cushions on the couches in the courtyard and the fountain was broken. Third the fridge in our room was broke and there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. When we asked the staff for help he was very rude to us and shut the door in our face. So not stay here!

Hotel was unstaffed. I can not even call it a hotel, it was more of an unattended worn down apartment building. Definitely by no means a modernized or boutique hotel. Even the driver that was arranged to pick us up stated while dropping us off “doesn’t look like the pictures does it.” The room was dirtier than any I’ve stayed in. We have 3 kids 8,10,13 who were laughing as they found more and more garbage around the room. Outlets were missing covers with wires exposed. Unpainted walls with very large cracks and tape all over the wall (blue painters tape and scotch tape). Used soap boxes on top of the mirror. The couch was unusable. It was completely broken and you could not sit on it...not that you wanted to as the cushions were ripped up and it had cigarette holes all over it....overall it was disgusting and we ended up just leaving on the first of a 3 night stay and switched to the Omni Royal....which was amazing. If you want a college like, hostel like apartment...then this is for you. If you want to sleep and shower in a clean environment look elsewhere.

Interesting Hotel

We stayed 3 nights. Hotel very unusual and quirky. First impressions of our room were good although disappointed that no carpet or other form of floor covering, just a concreted floor with a rather tatty rug. Later found in bathroom it took an age to run hot water and shower didn't function too well. More disappointing was that I had asked for late checkout as flight not until evening when I booked hotel and in fairness to hotel they responded quickly saying this would depend on availability of room at time. When we arrived we asked again about late check out and again late afternoon day before we were due to leave. Told that there was no problem and we could have room until 5pm. At 2.30pm we had knock on door from hotel manager saying that we had to vacate room asap as they had let room to new guests and needed to get room cleaned/prepared. We had just half hour to pack etc. Gather reason was down to influx of bookings caused by people leaving Florida due to hurricane Irma. Whilst the people of Florida have my greatest sympathy you don't treat guests this way when you have already agreed to their having a late check out. The new guests from Florida could have still been accommodated by letting them have room after 5pm - I would have left a little earlier had we been asked. Annoyingly when we collected our bags at 5pm from hotel there was no sign of new guests in our room.

The sofa was broken in the front so we kept sliding down onto the floor, one of the beds was wore out or broken and we kept rolling to the middle of the bed, there is no heat and it was freezing this weekend, the air cooler/dryer in a bedroom smelt like someone urinated in it when I turned it on. Other than that it was ok

Cute getaway in the French Quarter

Information on hotels.com could've been presented better. There's parking, but you have to pay during certain hours and it's first come first serve. There's luggage service at 3rd party luggage hold centers--not on the property. Checkin on hotels.com is at 3pm, host says it's 4pm in a separate message. Hotels.com says $70 is collected at checkin, hosts says it's already taken care of. The place was very cute. There was something wrong with the electricity in one of the rooms, so the kids ended up just sleeping on the pullout couch (which had a lot of crumbs) b/c the lights kept twitching. Overall, it was a nice stay--just some minor hiccups. Location was great. Felt pretty safe. Host responded quickly to any issues.

My kids and and I had an amazing visit!! This property is simple and efficient. Everything you could ever want to do in the Big EZ is right at your finger tips. This is a historic property and not fair to compare to a regular hotel. We stayed in room 8. Comfortably sleeps 4 adults. But could easily accommodate more people depending how comfortable they are with each other. I just got home and I am ready to go back. Would not change anything. Perfect place for the French Quater.

Not what I had hoped for

I hate having to write negative things but I did not feel safe in my room. The deadbolt did not catch on the door frame which had been routed or rotted out. There was no point in calling for an "emergency" fix because what is needed is a replacement door frame and deadbolt and that wouldn't happen on a weekend. Other tenants did not respect the quiet hours, and the courtyard floor kept flooding even though there was no rain. Otherwise the suite was pleasant, and certainly roomy enough.
