“Very basic hotel, fine if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night. Hot taps are very hot and water pressure is very high, so difficult to get the flow and temperature right for a shower, without it being too hot or too cold, or blasting water horizontally. Shower curtain very small so bathroom floor is flooded after a shower. Beds are very hard and not very comfortable. I only booked this because nothing else was available (high demand due to BTCC at Thruxton). Staff was very friendly...

“Lovely bnb, right in the middle of Marlborough. Our room was very well appointed, with a small but perfectly adequate shower-room. Very good breakfast. ”

“Staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was a little tired. A big car park for about 14 cars was a big plus. The road system is a little complicated and busy, so advanced planning how to access the car park is recommended. The full English Breakfast was provided bang on time and was adequate. I would suggest that they introduce cornflakes, marmalade and any fresh fruit or yoghurts. We also had to ask for second cups of coffee/tea.”

“The staff were very friendly, and made us feel at home! The room was cozy and the view was beautiful, though the road outside was rather noisy, but it dies down after dark. I was hooked on the Cotswold Stout while we were there, and the town absolutely won our hearts! Highly recommended The Bear if you're around Marlborough!”

“The historic aspect of the hotel is unique and quaint. The proximity to the river, the walking path into town thru the meadows and past gardens is stunning. The vistas of the countryside and flora and fauna were truly spectacular. Staff were helpful, rooms are snug - but clean and comfortable. A memorable stay. Will return & recommend to others. A great base point for visits to local sights such as the Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum castle ruins, Stonehenge, and the New Forest area.”
