My stay at yellow bird was wonderful! We rebooked 4 times! The beach is large and beautiful with lots of trees for shade. The beach bar is nice, 2 for 1 happy hour! The food on the beach from the beach grill is fantastic. They offer everything from curried goat to various wraps and much more. I highly recommend the fish wrap. Chef David can really cook and is super friendly! From the moment we arrived we felt like we were home and had known the staff for years. Shanika and Vincent are so friendly and made our stay wonderful! I can’t forget to mention Sandra, she is wonderful as well, she’ll do a load of laundry, just don’t forget to give her a generous tip. Big up to the staff at yellow bird! I have made wonderful new friends! You’re truly amazing! 😍

Property just bought by another company that has started rehab on place Just old 40s buildings now Place was clean and safe Great ocean access and old fashion cabana bar that has two for one drinks all day long Once rehab complete will be even a better place to stay No food on site but has kitchens and staff offered to cook for us

Don’t expect much from this place. Not even a towel or toilet paper in the bathrooms. You basically get what you pay for, or maybe less than that. If u like a deserted place-go for it. Peace and quiet you will get.

When we arrived we were met by a shady individual in the guard shack and another standing by the gate. They informed us that the property was closed since the hurricane (which was over a week before) and that we would have to stay somewhere else. The grounds looked dark and terrible.Tragic.

We picked this place because of its location on the beach. The beach was terrible due to huge amounts of rotting seaweed with bad smell. Water was filthy with garbage in it. Our room was tiny. It had a fridge in the room. The shower didn’t work. We used the shower in our friends room. Air conditioning worked. Every night there was a huge party going on until 2 am so we couldn’t sleep. I would never go back here.

I have stayed many times and gave great reviews so I was shocked when I arrived at 9pm and was given a room without a bathroom/ when asked about a bathroom they said the charge would be twice as much a when I pleaded that I wasn’t prepared for an out of doors bathroom / I don’t have a bathrobe - u get up in the night tu use the bathroom - I can’t work w this - they called and said No - pay $180 or else stay in this room - It’s 9:30 at night And the taxi dropped me off - I have no where to go - this is UNACCEPTABLE

No human being should stay at this place. Its a total scam. The property (The Yellow Bird) is like nothing presented online. Everywhere and everything is dirty. The EXTERnal bathroom is minutes away from the bedroom. In the bathroom wet, dirty towel on the floor, dirty water in the dilapidated face basin, very very dirty. The bedroom very very dirty, the security guard is the one who was trying to clean up a little when we took out our phone and started to video the place. We demanded a refund and they are insisting we request it from Expedia. We will be back tomorrow morning to get a refund because we cannot sleep in this nasty place. Stay away from this place

In all honesty, it's not the best place on the beach nor the cheapest and for what Expedia charged per night, I expected it to be better. I've been to Yellow Bird many times in the past and it's been cleaner. Yes there was people cleaning the beach but for the amount of people staying there, we all didn't make that much of a mess. There are signs in the kitchen that say to clean up as you go and on more than one occasion, the sinks were full of dirty dishes and dirty pots/pans left on the stove top. I was not going to clean someone's dishes so I can cook my family some breakfast.There was full strength dish soap. We had 3 adults in the room and there was barely enough room. No where to store our luggage. Full sized fridge in our room. Ceiling Fan and AC were in working order. The toilet had a good flush and sometimes we had hot water. Security was active and made themselves seen. They even gave us a wake-up knock when it was time to leave. Overall, I'd give this experience 5/10
