The historic look of this hotel, location to River and spacious room are some of the things I loved. Additionally the breakfast was delicious. Coffee and oatmilk creamer were appreciated! The room description was off - the junior suite indicated a queen bed, but it is actually a sofa bed. Also no restaurant on site. Overall the hotel was a great deal and I would stay again if in this area.

Location is fantastic and rooms are clean. Front desk staff was friendly but the hotel seems to have an antiquated booking system and they had difficulty in managing changes, key cards stopped working, and in room there were issues with hot water and switches for lamps. Its still great to stay in the heart of downtown, but the hotel is aging.

The hotel is in a great location and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lounge was nice but doesn’t offer any food. However, there are LOTS of restaurants within a short walking distance. I would stay there again!

Rooms were clean . Breakfast was very good. The only problem I had was sleeping. The walls must be thin! Neighbors above me stumped all during the night waking me up. The rooms of both sides of me talked extremely loudly ( (I could hear every word) and the children were jumping around till midnight.

We arrived late on Sunday afternoon and unfortunately nothing was open within the town (shops). No restaurant in the hotel and nothing open within walking distance. There was a bar in the hotel that opened at 5pm but there was no one in there. The room was comfortable although very dated and the air con was noisy and made the floor and bedding feel damp. The windows were dirty from outside so it was difficult to see through. Not great breakfast options. Didn’t really have any contact with any staff other than checking in and checking out, however they were very pleasant. Positives is that the hotel is in a good location and the town is worth visiting as it’s the oldest town in Louisiana.

I've stayed at this property several times throughout the years due to its location . Main street, the river, restaurants, bars and shops are a couple blocks away. While the staff is always great, the property experience over the last couple of years was not so great.....the rooms were poorly cleaned, the furniture worn, and most common items ( towels, hangers, ironing boards, etc) missing. This year, however, was a TOTALLY different experience! Great room, very clean, well appointed . Apparently management heeded the increasingly negative reviews and have made positive changes. I had a Jr. Suite and would definitely recommend it. It was very spacious with nice furnishings and everything you need down to a Keurig coffee maker, so you can bootleg your own favorite flavors. :-)
