料理や温泉は老舗らしくとても素晴らしいです。 部屋については、和室でしたが畳がよく軋みかなり劣化しているのではないでしょうか。 音が気になる人はきついかもしれません。 スタッフは、外国人の方が多く頑張ってますが、老舗のそれなりの名宿として考えると少し教育が足りないかと思います。 老舗に恥じないサービスを期待してます。

お食事は懐石でとても美味しかった。 温泉♨は沢山あり、お湯も熱すぎず良い湯加減だった。 部屋から温泉♨まで遠く迷子になりかけた。良い運動にはなる。

源泉掛け流し温泉が豊富

正面玄関の茅葺屋根が歴史を感じる。源泉掛け流し温泉であんなに沢山お風呂場があるのは珍しいです。特に、森のこだまは風情があってお勧め。タイミングが良ければ、河原沿いの竜宮もぜひ（混浴）。食事もサービスも申し分ないが、とても広い館内なので掃除や手入れが隅々まで行き届かない面が若干目についた。相対的にはとても快適な滞在だったので、またリピートしたい。

一見、伝統的な老舗の温泉旅館ながら、実際はごく普通の大型温泉ホテル。

一見、伝統的な老舗の温泉旅館ながら、実際はごく普通の大型温泉ホテルです。お湯は絶品ながら、高額な料金にはちょっと見合わないかも。 ＜良かった点＞ ・四万温泉街の奥まったところにある老舗の温泉宿。思いのほか巨大な施設で、温泉も7つと豊富。それぞれ趣の異なる源泉掛け流しのお湯を楽しめます。宿泊客はかなり多そうでしたが、混雑せずノンビリ入れました。 ・雰囲気が良いのは露天風呂の「森のこだま」。森に囲まれた湯船で、小さな滝を眺めながらの温泉は格別です。格子戸から日の光が差し込むヒノキ風呂「御夢想の湯」も雰囲気のよい温泉です。ただヒノキの香りはせず残念。一番広い「甍の湯」は温度の異なるお湯があるので好みで選べ、ゆったりできます。 ・全般的にお湯の温度は適温からやや熱めの範囲。ただ、熱めが好きな連れは逆にぬるめとの感想。やはり人によって好みが異なります。 ・ちなみに、四万温泉はたびたび訪れていますが、入浴して夜寝ていると体の内部がとても熱くなります。いつも不思議なのですが、これも温泉効果？ ・今回宿泊した部屋は木湧館のスタンダード和室。部屋に入るなりい草の匂いでリラックス。しかも20畳はあろうかという広さに驚きました。周囲の音もまったく聞こえず、山あいの温泉宿で静寂に包まれて過ごせます。 ・部屋のアメニティはひと通り揃っています。また、1泊なのに浴衣やバスタオルの替えがあるのは良心的。なお、部屋の暖房は温泉の熱を利用しているとのことで、暑すぎたらエアコンで冷やすのだとか！？ ・夕食は食事専用の個室でとります。見た目も美しく趣向を凝らした料理でおいしくいただきました。朝食はバイキングスタイルで品数もけっこう豊富。温泉宿らしい和食の品々が並び、思わず食べ過ぎてしまいました。 ＜残念だった点＞ ・老舗の高級温泉宿と思って宿泊しましたが、実際の印象はむしろ家族向けの大型温泉ホテル。値段はそれなりにしますし造りも手をかけていますが、しっとり落ち着いた高級感はそれほどありません。 ・部屋はとても広くてのんびりできましたが、首をかしげる点もチラホラ。壁の汚いシミが目立つこと、部屋の広さに比べて洗面台スペースが妙に狭いこと、夜寝るとき部屋の行灯が妙に明るいこと、そして窓には襖はあるものの障子がなく、朝日が直接差し込み眩しすぎること等々。 ・食事は夕食・朝食ともに品数豊富ですが、味はやや薄めであっさり気味。個人の好みの問題ではありますが、もう少し出汁を効かせたり、コクが欲しいところです。 ・朝食用のレストランはとても広いですが、宿泊客でごった返していました。夕食用の個室とは打って変わって賑やかな朝食。もう少し温泉宿らしい落ち着いた朝食だと良かったのですが。 ・温泉そのものはとても良いですが、脱衣場が冷えて寒いのは残念。特に冬場はある程度暖房を入れて欲しいと感じました。 ・従業員の接客はテキパキしており特に気になるところはありませんでしたが、連休ということもあってかややバタバタ気味。もう少し落ち着いた接客でも良いかなと感じました。 総じてみると決して悪くはないのですが、この料金であれば他の旅館を考えた方が良いかもしれません。
