This place is beautiful, It is in a secluded gated locked down area. Umm - you're pretty much locked in. Which is fine. But the amenities and food is super expensive. This place was more expensive than Bora Bora (for whatever reason). Yet, that Peruvian restaurant was well worth it. The Beach club downstairs via the funicular was also good. Why the 3-star rating? (1) Our butler was a bit useless and umm -- lazy. We didn't feel engaged and he did not cater to us when we really needed it. (2) The toilet door and lock is designed poorly where it locked us out. (3) The Mexican and breakfast restaurant staff kept messing up our food order. And not to mention, like slooooooowwwww. Interesting enough, the slooooooowwwww service has mentioned in other reviews. Because of the poor service, we cannot fully recommend this place.

We stayed at the family tree top tent for 5 nights and it was an amazing experience. Nekajui's location is absolutely prime, and the wildlife outside our tent and around the property was unreal! They assign a Mantu to help you schedule reservations and ours was very helpful. The service for a Ritz Carlton Reserve however, could be a bit better at times. Sometimes service can be a bit slow, especially by the main pool. We also had a pretty good sized plunge pool but it was only cleaned when we requested it. There are tons of insects around (since its in the forest) so a daily quick cleaning would have been appreciated. However, they are a new property so they still have growing pains and I believe this will be the crown jewel of the Papagayo Peninsula soon. There are some good food options and great adventures you can book right on site, and a complimentary shuttle is there to take you to nearby resorts in the Peninsula and Papagayo Park, which can't be missed if you have kids! All in all, we are so glad we chose Nekajui for our first time visiting Costa Rica and we will return.

This was one of our favorite places we have ever been. The communication from before arrival, all throughout was so good and made it easy to decide what to do. The Mantu (friend in native dialect) or Butler guides the day and makes it easy to curate your experience on the go. Must do: Sunset drinks at Ambar one night, spa pool (you can access anytime) for sunset, nature tour, snorkeling (the will lend you a snorkel for right off the beach) Every hour they bring round a little bite or juice while your laying by the pool or beach. Also, I didnt realize you could get reservations and they would take you to the other hotels. We loved the steakhouse and Italian at the four seasons and we liked the asian concept at Andaz. The restaurant by the beach at ritz for lunch is amazing too. My only feedback: add beach totes to borrow in the room, clear the room service trays during stay and coffee shop was too expensive - it was oddly more expensive than anything on the property - except the massages - $650 including tip for a 90 min - it was a STELLAR massage but thats extreme imo. if it was 400 something I probably would have gotten a second one. We loved loved loved coming here and cannot wait to come back.
