Nice property just off the lake. Inside hotel, restaurant and beds were all great. Unfortunately in an area where the fungus gnats outside are thriving and use of a netting is required to minimize bug exposure.

There are a lot of flies. This is the environmental issue that the hotel management may not be able to control it because flies every where in rural areas in Iceland. Apart from this issue. Everything is good. A good place to hunt Northern light just at the hotel car park.

The hotel is on an isolated hill with a large view of the surrounding area. Myvatn lake is visible in the distance. The restaurant was excellent. The chef has done some very creative things with with his dishes and his adaptable to eating restrictions. Overall, the only challenge is the midges which is very common in myvatn

Hotel Laxa is located by lake myvatn, a little further away from all the farmhouses which puts in a quiet location with views all round of Myvatn and still convenient. The staff at hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. They have a nice bar with quiet places for work and a game room as well. I stayed for 3 nights and loved it, and would highly recommend.

This property was our financial splurge while on the Ring Road for 6 days, right in the middle and perfectly timed. Very comfortable room, quiet, plenty of amenities, restaurant, games and relaxing areas. The food in the restaurant, while pricey, was beyond flavourful expectations. A must stay for travellers that can spoil themselves!

Very convenient to get to. The staff was extremely nice. Not a fan of the modern shower. Fitted bedsheet had pills all over it and was annoying. Restaurant was good and they worked with us so that we could immediately be seated. Victoria, our waitress, was exceptionally good.
